"Red Dead Redemption 2 has now sold 24 Million copies worldwide. Only selling 1 Million copies in the last 3 months. Take-Two Interactive have said it’s still selling better than expected.

Red Dead Online will be coming out of beta this Quarter, meaning it will come out of Beta by the end of June. CEO Strauss Zelnick also claimed that they have content drops coming for Red Dead Online. Claiming Online is performing very well."

lol, the CEO talks about RDR2 online as if it's a good thing. The online portion of that game is dead!

I couldn't get through RDR2. I played and enjoyed RDR, but I found the second was just far too slow for me. From what I hear, the game was pretty damn great, so well-deserved sales. As for GTAV... Nobody can explain that lol.

They still haven't made a PC version yet. So, a lotta potential sales there. I also feel like they are going to make a next-gen edition too.

It's one of the few games that I'm willing to buy some SP DLC. After almost 190h I would be ok with throwing them some more money.

@dimebag667: I maybe got 4-5 hours in, and it just dragged far too much. Travelling became such a chore that it just broke the game-play for me. Sold it, but if it does release for PC, I might buy it dirt cheap.

Are you saying RDR2 is better than GTAV, and that it selling less is not surprising? I mean, RDR2 was released a short while ago, and GTAV has years and multiple systems over RDR2.

@lundy86_4: It has a couple cool scenes, but overall it's just boring. I don't mind it being slow if it's done well. Just riding around on my horse in rdr1 was one of my favorite things to do, but they ruined that for me in this game with boring environments and annoying music. Almost everything you do is completely pointless or unnecessary. It saddens me to think about how good it should've been.

He's also leaving out the fact that Fortnite sold more than both of them combined, and it's the superior game. Sometimes the better game does sell more.

Those GTA V sales are insane and those Red Dead Redemption 2 sales are very impressive as well. You’d have to be pretty stupid to think that the RDR2 are in any way “bad” or “disappointing” in comparison to GTAV considering GTAV has been out for years and on 5 platforms while RDR2 has been out for months and only on 2 platforms.

The only good thing about Fortnite is it keeps the kids like you away from other online games now.

I agree. I remember when I first played the game on my PS3(which sadly was the game I was playing when my fat 80GB BC PS3 died).

Good for them both games are amazing in their own ways although I don't give a shit about the online. I'm actually replaying RDR2 on PS4 wishing it was on PC. I need that 60 FPS and mouse and keyboard controls I know I would enjoy the game so much more on PC just on control alone I will always hate aiming with a gamepad .

Taking a look at Wikipedia's list, only Tetris and Minecraft are higher, but they include mobile versions, like you said. So in terms of pure console sales, GTAV is definitely the undisputed king.

According to Wikipedia, that 80 million figure is including all of the bundles. So wouldn't it make sense for the number to be high if it comes packed in with the Wii, which sold over 100 million? I can't remember if Wii Sports sold separately later on (and if it did, was it for $40? $60?). Yes, there's a difference between one platform and five platforms, but there's also a difference between a bundled game, and one individually sold for $60!

Yes, but you had lots of options. If you hated GTA games, you could get other bundles, or no bundle at all and just the consoles.

With Wii, I believe you could not run away from Wii Sports. Love or hate Wii Sports, you are getting it with the Wii no matter what. It will follow you and sleep among your video game library no matter what you do.

According to attach rate experts like Bread_or_Decide on Sony games they should sale 10% of user base day 1, according to that logic RDR2 should have sold 13 million day 1.

Considering all the complaints I hear about RDR2, I'm still going to wait for PC + mods. Maybe they can speed the game up a little, in case that's going to bug me. Also f*** them for the DLC horse and exclusive missions. I will wait for the budget bin. Not in a hurry anyway.

I'm gonna replay RDR and Undead Nightmare soon, while I wait for the inevitable PC version for RDR 2.

Am I the only one who remembers when GTAV's multiplayer first came out back on 360/PS3, it was broken garbage, it didnt even work right, and everybody hated it?
