I picked ps3, I had over 25 games, dont play them anymore (traded them all for a wiiU) but still use it as a media server. Some good times, so very crap couch multiplayer experiences, but even those were fun in a way.

People need to keep in mind that since PC is not part of the equation, 360 gets the advantage of all the PC/360 multiplats. When we are comparing standalone consoles, the 360 having games like Left 4 Dead, Gears 1, The Witcher 2, Mark of the Ninja, and Mass Effect 1 (for pretty much the entirety of this gen), that starts to add a lot of favor towards 360's library. I truly feel bad for RPG fans that are PS3 only owners since they missed The Witcher 2 which is one of the best RPGs this gen.
Not to mention other RPGs like Fallout and Skyrim are actually playable on 360 whereas the PS3 version are awful.

When someone resorts to altering a post, you KNOW they're upset:P
mems is always upset. Then shame on you for picking 360 over PS3.:P Really though, updates can get really annoying at times but shouldn't be that much of a factor.[QUOTE="super600"]
I actually played and wath my cousins play on their PS3 before and played on one. It's pretty good, but I hated the updates my cousins had to do with the games they owned and how slow they could be at times.

I got my 360 for free.:D
TC may be excluding PC from this thread, but it doesn't change the fact that I have a PC and it's going to influence my decision regardless of what TC does and doesn't wish to include in the thread.[QUOTE="BPoole96"]

Exactly my point
Xbox 360, mainly because it lead the generation in terms of console features, built in HDD, streamlined online integration, built in wireless controller functionality, Netflix, digital movie retail and rentals, downloadable games, demos, game videos, friends lists, party chat, achievements, and pioneered the biggest leap over the previous generation and really lead to a larger atmosphere of game development aiming at both consoles and PC markets. I feel they had the larger impact on console gaming this gen. Sure the PS3 is a very comparable system and even better in regards to having Blu-ray and free online, but it wouldn't be anything close to the console we have today if Sony didn't have to compete with MS, probably no HDD and instead use proprietary memory cards, no online store, limited online gameplay probably requiring a peripheral HDD device, no downloadable games, probably no Cell or Blu-ray, no Netflix, no online updates or DLC, no trophies, and all around a much weaker console.lamprey263
PS3 had both of these out of the box as well as rechargeable controllers and HDMI.
360 did not.

They truly are awful.
Yup, recently signed up to PS+ (again) and got the digital version of LBP2 (already own the disc but cba with discs) and to my dismay when i went to boot it up it had 12 updates waiting... hours later and its finally ready to play, so then i boot it up, realize i have to backup my disc copy's save game in order to transfer my save to the digital copy, so i put in my LBP2 disc, boot it up and guess what?... i need the exact same updates for that as i did for the digital version...
Luckily i didn't need the updates to backup my disc copy's saves, but the whole thing is still ridiculous.
As for my favourite console for the 7th gen, though i havn't played it in a good while now and use the PS3 much much more than it, the 360 holds the fondest memories of console gaming for me this gen (PC beats all obviously).
I have no idea what your problem even was Snug, sounds rediculously complex
Masenkoe
Lol, uneeded time wasting updates for something that could of included them (the digital version of LBP2) and not sharing save games/updates across digital/retail copies of the game.
Not that complicated.

I wonder who voted ror Wii ?
This gen belongs to the PlayStation 3 been an amazing generation with tons of great exclusives, great multiplats and amazing online games and i got to say i really looking forward to next gen :)
The PS3 only won because the 360 is nearly irrelevant for PC gamers aside from a couple franchises. I've said it before and I feel it holds true: Best standalone console is the 360 and the best combo is PC/PS3. Obviously out of all platforms, PC is the best standalone.

I agree, exactly the reason why I also picked the PS3 as my fav 7th gen console, it's a great system to compliment a gaming PC!
But if I needed a standalone console, the 360 would definitely be the way to go.

...because you love paying for things that are free elsewhere or because you hate consoles that have games?
