This Thursday, June 23, it seems. Paypal leaked it so it seems pretty real as this has happened before. Just thought I would let people know.

Steam sales are overrated. I never bought much on it. The price are very comparable to consoles now. I bought RE4HD for PS3 for like $5 the lowest it was ever on Steam was $6.79? Whatever.

Just depends on what games you already own. Some gamers buy most every triple A title as it releases. I think the real issue is that many Steam users spoiled themselves a long time ago. Now a 50% off on Witcher 3 or something they already own doesn't interest them nor does some 5 year old game for $5 but you guys can't really expect newer, high budget titles to always hit 75% or more off every time a Steam sale hits. Remember the time when there were no such sales? When 10 yr old games were either hard to find, a pirated copy from Asia or cost at least $20

There are a few titles I've been waiting for the right price on. MGS 5 is one of them. I know I won't beat it and it's repetitive with a funky story but I also know the gameplay is pretty good so that's why I've been waiting on that one. Maybe I'd get Witcher 3 if it was 75% off. Those games only mildly appeal to me but are popular enough that most probably already bought them long ago. So now you'll just see a ton of games that you never paid attention to or are indie games because you overlook all the good games since you already own them.

Mad Max with DLC is pretty easy to find cheap, I got from the linked site for £13 the week it released. Actually I get most of my games from them and never had a problem.

Might pick up a game or 2, I have too many games in a backlog that I don't really feel interested in spending money on games to leave on the shelf.

  • Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition -- 4.99 USD
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider -- 4.99 USD

You are aware that the reason why games are so cheap on g2a, cdkeys etc.(not sure about gmg) is because most of the keys are either stolen or its from third world countries(that obv. get the games a lot cheaper than we do..) so yeah you might as well just download hacked versions of the game, not like you support the developers by buying stuff of those sites..

Same. But that's because with the advent of the Humble Bundle, I've already got most of the games I wanted for a lot less, anyways. That THQ bundle still lives among the annals of the greatest deals of all time.

I know that isn't the case with GMG......CDKeys has never let me down and I am NOT stealing. I am still paying a good price, about what these games are worth!

Finally time for me to get The Witcher 3 and experience it in it's full ultrawide glory now that I have the monitor that I wanted. I know it's on sale right now on GOG but I prefer having my games in one spot. >.>

I might also get DOOM if that gets a sale.

That's about it for me. I'm finally slowly clearing through my backlog so I don't want to buy too many games atm.

@djoffer: The publisher is paid when the keys are acquired, just like any import product.

If I get a game over ebay from another country, the dev has already been paid for it.

Physical secondhand sales are more damaging because the publisher gets paid once despite multiple redemptions. And yet no one has issues with that...

Been waiting on a massive sale of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Not many sales at all going on for that game. I've been checking lots of sites, and avoid sites like G2A due to possibly being ripped off.

It's glorious if you compare it to the old x360 version that ran like ass, 1440p on 144fps really does the game justice, I spent more time on the PC version already than I did with the original x360 one.

I've been through 4 steam summer sales and have had large helpings each time (10-12 titles). This year I don't project as a large of a collection with other websites i know. Looking at maybe 5 or 6 titles this summer.

I hope some of these Vive games get good discounts. The prices are a little too high for what they are. Also some indies would be cool.

Depends on how the keys are acquired. If you think all of this shady game key sites are legit then there's really no help for you.

....i think its happened. i think im all steam saled out. my backlog is massive. i hoped to finish pillars last week....but its bigger than i thought. then there is warhammer (waiting for a patch for 2 to clean up the gameplay a bit). i have a bunch of side missions in xenoblade X to finish (i finished the main campaign so technically i can call it done....but its a perfectly good excuse to get back to mira). i want to finish the 2 arkham games (not even started 2). get super hot done also (im stuck....:S). i could go on.

i think im calling time on game buying for a while.

That goes double for me. I too got a lot of backlog of games catching up to do and not only that, I'm kinda broke at the moment due to some pre-ordering games and stuff, I'm fine what I have now.

Looking to see the prices on:

  • Superhot
  • Stardew Valley
  • Offworld Trading Company
  • The Witness
  • Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak
  • Infinifactory
  • Helldivers
  • Oxenfree
  • Samorost 3
  • Deathsmiles
  • Salt & Sancturary
  • Firewatch
  • Rebel Galaxy
  • The Walking Dead: Michionne
  • Nuclear Throne
  • Endless Legend: Shifters

If either of them hit 50% off or over and I dont find it cheaper anywhere, yeah I'll go in on it.

I'm hoping for a good deal on the DLC for Skyrim. So I can get that upgraded legendary edition when it launches. That'll probably be it for me this sale. I'm still trying to get Wii U games and I'll be starting my NX fund here. If the rumors of 30 launch games is true then I'm going to be in severe pain.

Uh huh....
I got Shadow of Mordor for $17.99. It was $59.99 on consoles.
I got South Park: Stick of Truth for $5. It was $39.99 on consoles
I got Telltale Game of Thrones, Season 1 and 2 of Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us for $9.99 for all chapters. At the time that total pkg was almost $50 on consoles.
I've gotten numerous games that usually $10-$20 normal price for under $5 on steam sales.

I think you need to pay attention more. You can get Tomb Raider and games like that for like $9. You can catch the Witcher 2 for under $5 and the Witcher 3 will probably drop to some absurd price like $19.99 or so.

If I can pick up axiom verge, hyper light drifter, the witness, and shadowrun on the cheap, I'll be set. I have a ridiculous number of games still to beat so besides maybe TLG in october those would be my last buys for the year.

I'll be keeping an eye on Shovel Knight, Underrail, Darkest Dungeon, probably some others I'm forgetting right now. Maybe Civilization Beyond Earth if it goes for $10 or cheaper. Far Cry 4 if it's cheaper than $10.
