Splinter Smell just can't compete

I am playing MGS4 right now, and with the exception of Double Agent (That game sucked) I prefer the Splinter Cell series to MGS, although both are fun games.

And that is being completely honest.

I like Splinter Cell better. MGS may have a deeper--and more outrageous--story, but I prefer SC's gameplay. You should play Chaos Theory and you'll see how much MGS borrowed from SC. Also, SC's multiplayer destroys MGS's.Sooshy

Co-op in CT was just phenomenally fun.

But MGS>any SC game even CT, but CT is a great game.

the mgs series came out before the splinter cell series I think you have that backwards.

My only problem with Splinter Cell after playing MGS is the I.A.. The enemies are sooooo stupid compared with MGS's.

I think that both are great (MGS a little better only because the great enemies' I.A. and story), but I think that both games are not comparable at all.

MGS 4 is FAR more action-oriented, taking some similarity with a third person shooter. If you wish, you can play the game w/o sneaking at all.

SC is more stealth oriented, with a more realistic storyline (what not necessary means better). Here you HAVE to use stealth, what makes the game a little slower than MGS 4. And the Multiplayer is a blast.

Conclussion: both GREAT games.

Never really got into the SS series, I played them all but I couldnt push myself to beating them except the first one.

Splinter Cell Conviction is still in development, and from the looks, may never release. How can you compare it to MGS when no one has played Conviction? Why is that even in discussion?

I am not bashing MGS. I am stating I like Splinter Cell better as a game series. And I would make a terrible lemming, seeing as I am playing and enjoying MGS4 right now. I am watching the Act 3 Mission Briefing as I type this.

And I would give you MGS4 > SC:DA, but the prior SCs, IMO, beat MGS, including MGS4 in most areas.

lol yea pretty stupid name. I like the Splinter Cell series its pretty damn fun and the games were a great reason to own an Xbox a couple years back. I absolutely love the MGS series though, they've always been more cinematic and the characters are a lot more interesting. It is all about preference though.

ive always liked splinter cell...i bought chaos theory and pandora tommarow, its a very good series.....but

in terms of stealth gameplay I mean. MGS may have an 'amazing' storyline but I wouldn't brag about it's gameplay too much. It has been and will always be love it or hate it kinda game, with a strong fanbase that likes it and everyone else who doesn't care about it. Personally, I could care less about it (doesn't mean I think it's bad though.)
