[QUOTE="heretrix"][QUOTE="ZIMdoom"]LOL. It's your opinion dude, knock yourself out. Isn't that what he just told you?If he felt that way then there was no need for him to get bent out of shape about it. He was trying to be clever. he failed.I guess that makes Halo a failure since I don't care how much money it makes and find it dull and have no desire to spend my time there? Quick! Start a Halo is basically a failure thread because my opinion trumps reality.

A casino would actually be a great idea. Here's a thought- earning Trophies in game could give you virtual Home money which you could use in the casino. Say, $5 for a Bronze Trophy, $15 for a Silver, $50 for a Gold and $100 for a Platinum :o Bah, Sony aren't smart enough to think of something like that.Look, I'm just asking for a damn casino. Why is that so hard? A cafe? REALLY? So now they are going to sell you fake food too?
ghod.

I don't consider it a failure.
*Also the topic is unnecessary in my opinion, because it doesn't serve any real purpose except bashing. If you are not satisfied with home, then complain to sony.
It's pretty interesting reading some folks saying how can Home be a failure if it made $1 million dollars and at the same time they use that excuse and say that it's still a beta. So it's a success because it made a million or is it a failure because it's a beta? Reminds me of the price value agrument confusion.one_on_one
And not to point fingers at fanboy factions but both of these arguments belong to what fanbase?
ummm...welcome to System Wars? almost every topic exists for fans to defend and haters to bash. with a few somewhat objective opinions sprinkled in.I don't consider it a failure.

since when was making $1,000,000+ and growing a failure? hiryu3shhhhhhh he might cry lol just playin. they have made over 1 million dollars so far and spaces just keep popping up and more support just keeps coming i say no failure here. and lets not forget its a BETA

since when was making $1,000,000+ and growing a failure? hiryu3Ever since I didn't give a **** about how much money Sony makes from it. Maybe in the future it'll grow into something worthwhile, at the moment its just...dumb. I think a better way of doing this meeting up in this game room and socializing thing is doing what Fable II did, which is sort of what Test Drive Unlimited did. Players randomly populating your world in some form. In Fable II it's talking orbs floating around, in TDU it's cars driving around. Maybe wouldn't work well in all games, but I like the idea.

I know how system wars works. I just feel that most people here are repeating each others blunders, by speculating and stating information that they don't even try to comprehend. Each side being identical, they do nothing except repeat, repeat and repeat. I consider that irritating and ignorant when people who have no knowledge whatsoever try to show their wisdom by stating opinions as the truth.

Depends on what perspective your looking from when your speaking about success. If your looking from the Sony perspective and you put out a "Beta" (how many betas do you purchase something off of?) and you make a profit. Eventhough in my opinion its boring and gets old really fast. Then its a Success.
If your looking from a Gamer perspective...or just an overall person who wants to be entertained. I believe its a failure.

There's much more to come to Home that will make it a great service. It just isn't there yet. There are so many possibilities. One other thing they need to get going is the game launching. Last I checked Warhawk was the only game to offer such a feature. Otherwise, i think more would find the service useful.
well it is making money, so I wouldn't all it a failure :? and more devs are working with it, there is a great potential in thereGiancarOnce again...sony has to use the potential argument. How about realizing their potential for once and stop making us gamers wait to see what it has to offer.

I understand what you mean... but it'll be much like the PSN, and it'll evolve over time I believe. I understand what you're saying, and it's hilarious to think back to what David Reeves said earlier last year that "it wont matter when Home launches, because when it does it will be worth it" or something like that. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that it'll eventually be entertaining.

Nothing like cows were claiming when it was announced in 2007. NXE was a bigger event than Home, funny how time changes and perceptions change.PrimusGearsDespite many "gamers" not caring about home, Home is highly popular among people with a PS3.

[QUOTE="Tyrant156"][QUOTE="loftus42"]No, instead of charging for PSn, they charge you for a graphical new home, (5.00), or a new shirt(1.00). Lol, I see no difference in the two. Live does the same thing but without the glorified Sims interface. I think its funny how cows are defending this and ragging on Live. Ones not right, but the other is? LOL I will be able to live without Home, and play MGS4, and all my other games on my PS3, without Home.loftus42
Live forces you to pay to play, you're not forced to buy a thing in Home and can still play games online for free.
for 1 thing it's not just pay to play, there are a number of features that only gold members can use. Mark my words, there are going to be very few things you can do in home, without paying money. Spin it all you want, it's a way for sony to get money for totaly worthless imaginary things, and MS forces you to pay to play on-line, real difference. LOL.lol Mark your words...what are you basing this on? what few things in home do you think they will charge you for? Dude what spin, Home is a socializing network and Live is a online service, clearly you have no clue what you're talking about.

clearly its not as poplular a game but that is not what it is, you go there to meet and talk like we are here but in 3d. check the PS fourum its got its own board with lots of threads.
I mean what much more is to write about to make a thread...do you see people making threads how awesome it is to talk on gamespot forums yet thousands talk on it every day. When it gets new spaces and games then threads will come.
Lots of my free time goes to Home now which is why I hardly post anymore...its like the best place to talk about games because you know no lemms can be there:)[QUOTE="CajunShooter"][QUOTE="PrimusGears"]Nothing like cows were claiming when it was announced in 2007. I've had Home for awhile and it really isn't all that good. Seriously, I'm not trying to troll here, but there really isn't anything interesting to do in it. If EA handles their area properly then MAYBE. But if it's handled as badly as the bowling alley is, I'll pass.
If it is done right. I would not have a problem coming in here and praising it to the rafters. Like I said, Poker or a casino would be pure ownage.

I am basing it on A company needing to make PSn worth thier effort. Every little thing from cloths to furniture to homes, etc will be charged a certain price. c'mon 5.00 for a imaginary home. can't wait to see what every Dev is going to put on it to bring in the money. I also find it funny that they are hyping it as a socializing network. I find it much easier to send a message or chat invite in Live, then in Home. I have both PSn and Live, So, son, I do know what I am talking about concerning the two services. Now what is coming in the future is only my opinion, but i will find it hard to believe that Sony isn't going to take advantage of microtransactions. I spend 50.00 bucks a year on Live, have no problem with it. Home is just a glorified Sims program, and will, IMO, take microtransactions to a whole other level. You might not spend that much on those transactions, but you know enough people will just to look like they are someone. Sony WILL reap the benefit of these. P.S. Live is much more then an on-line service. They have as much if not more then home, but chose to do it in a different way. And it is much easier to navigate, and much more integrated into games then home, and xmb ever hopes to be. So, like I said, Spin it the way you want. I have both so i can compare both. Do You? IF not can You compare objectivly? IMO, Nope.Who cares if it is making money. Even those XBL DLC that gamers deem as 'scams' make plenty of money. Home is simply horrible, and no benifit to gamers. Social networking gone bad.skrat_01Finally an opinion that nails it right on the head. It's not only a waste of hard drive space,(which I have over 300gb, so it doesn't make that much of a dent for me) but it's also a waste of resources. And from what I've seen It's devided into a number of places, i.e. the bowling ally and the main area. Not many people their each time, but enough if you want to try bowling, too many people to do it. besides virtual bowling and pool is so boring. Nothing else there is worth anything. Just a possible money pit for microtransactions with virtual imaginary cloths and furniture. 5.00 homes 2.00 furniture. LOL, nothing really fun at all. just a place to spend money, like the Sony store.
