RDR2: Is second highest opening in the UK this year. Split 68/32 in favor of PS4

Grand Theft Horse 2 did well its first week. About double the numbers of the previous game, leaving this at over 500k for the week, but still only 27% of GTA V. And BOY is that split nasty. MS tried to move all the consoles they could with this game by undercutting Sony's marketing deal, but the result remains the same on the current trend. A bigger split than Blops 4 by quite some margin. Couldn't take out FIFA though.

Rockstar told share holders this wouldn't be as big as GTA, and that's reasonable. Hell, at least R* bothered to make another game, since they seemed content in soaking up Shark card money. But, still the biggest non-sport title debut of the year for the UK.

I expect a much larger debut in the states being that Westerns are most appealing to the US market. With over 3000 people working on this title, this was probably Rockstar's biggest game yet. Hopefully for them it'll have some legs.

Right. Sony is pretty straight forward here. And not marketing the term as as "FULL" or "ULTRA" 4K. The whole point of the Pro is to be played on a 4K set. 2160p is the baseline to do that.

People need to educate themselves about the products they buy then. Not every game and movie they buy advertised in 4K is native. As long as that distinction in made, that's better for the consumer.

TBH, I never seen that kind of advertising anywhere else. Not even the PS4 RDR2 launch trailer said nothing of 4K display at all, they only show RDR2 PS4 bundle and that's all the advertising Sony did but NOT that 4K display.

If PS4 gets a hot exclusive, they're not going to be playing it unless they get a PS4, period. While I can play all their games on a much better platform. That's what makes owning an Xbox One X bittersweet. And it's funny because they have to constantly bribe people to own it.

Will be interesting to see in the next couple years if MS will get a bigger piece of the pie with services like gamepass and upcoming xcloud beta for streaming. MS should be reaching more people. Think XO18 event will be a momentum booster for MS.

Hardware is lost cause but MS is coming in strong to obtain more through other means where they can go toe to toe where hardware difference wont matter.

That's why I'm so confused as to why MS is still so hellbent on getting Xbox One hardware out there by any means necessary at this stage of the game. They just revealed controllers for phones and tablets for their cloud gaming services. Will Xbox Ones still serve as Xcloud boxes even while they move on to Scarlett?
