I didn't even realize this game came out in a week. Curious to see what the word of mouth will be.

It went gold a few weeks ago, the reviewers got the copy already and some are already playing the game since QB doesn't have MP, they are able to play the game right off the bat.

Quantum Break is strictly for the old-school player

Not bad. I'm old school gamer myself so I'll definitely feel right at home :P

And they just keep rollin' in. That is great news. Remedy are developer gods.

I wouldn't call them developer gods, but QB may be the best game they made in awhile.

@blessedbyhorus

I'm thinking this game will either get a 8 or a 9. That will be dependent on how much the person from gamespot that reviews this game likes the tv like sections in the game.

@super600

Agreed I think the TV section is going to play a big part in the review. And speaking of TV part, heres a new trailer!!! :)

@kvally

Have you ever even played a Remedy game? Just asking or is it just because this game is on Xbox and not the PS4 that you're calling Remedy "Gods".

@blessedbyhorus: just the Max Paynes and Alan Wakes. Nothing to do with PS4. I play games on that console as well.

O M G...that trailer. I really didn't know they were investing that much money in actors and the actual TV episodes. I thought it might have ended up like some porn quality. That just stepped up the game my friends.

Why do you think the IP is owned my MS? Remedy said themselves they wouldn't be nowhere near able to make this game without MS... MS is most likely largely behind the TV show.

I never said MS owned the IP. Not sure why you say that. However, after further investigation, it appears that Microsoft does indeed own the IP:

MS is quick to drop price so I'll wait it out a week or two to get it half off. Worked out for RotTR and Halo 5 which both dropped to $30-$40 within a month.

I have been seeing that with games more lately, other than Call of Duty. I picked up Until Dawn a few weeks later after the release day for $39.99, a nice $20 drop quick.

Takes a bit longer with Sony titles and exceptionally longer with Nintendo.

Some MS titles take longer too. For example, the regular price is still $60.00 for Forza 6. Sony titles drop in price fast at times. Until Dawn dropped fast, DriveClub dropped fast...those two are the most recent fast dropping prices from Sony.

I haven't kept much up to on this game, but I do get a low resolution bulge from what I've seen so far.

Hope I get to play it soon. It's quite a big install/stream, and I just switched ISPs which gives me 5x the speed, but has a monthly cap. I'll have to watch that for a month or two before I decide to take a huge chunk out of it.

Maybe but the usual trend is that Xbone games are cheaper for some reason and that's a good thing. You can't beat $10 Gears UE after less than 6 months. Hell, Titantfall was $5-10 within the first year and that's record breaking.

What we need is developers giving us PC/Steam like pricing on console. ESPECIALLY considering we are paying a premium for the online service.

I think we are already there. Steam sales are overrated in my opinion. Most of my PC purchases are from humble and GMG. I bought way more stuff on XBL and PSN than I do on Steam. Recently, I just got Tekken TTT2 for $5 and SCV $4 on Xbox and don't get me started on those insane $1 PS flash sales. Sales from consoles caught up to PC imo but the PC library is just a lot bigger.

Holly hell, I didn't know Lance Reddick was in this mini t.v series. That just makes this mini watch a great way to take my 30 minute breaks from gaming.

@Legend002: nah we are not there yet, especially with humble deals. But when I can buy games for $1.50 like Alan Waie when I got it on PC then we are there.

We are getting closer though.

I'm aware you never said that, I was just stating. Remedy is a small studio and probably has a small budget, they would never by themselves be able to get a "TV show" with this quality and actors like Shawn Ashmore or Adan Gillen...

So I decided to give Alan Wake a run before Quantum Break arrives, wtf is wrong with the cutscenes? They look pixelated as hell but the game is fun. Glad they decided to make the PC version of the show 4k.

I haven't played the game but if I were to guess...Alan Wake is originally a X360 game, so when they ported it to PC they left the cutscenes low resolution (720p or lower). That's why it looks pixelated on your 1080p+ monitor.

Happens with a lot of games unfortunately.

Yeah, I am getting moist.....

Quantum Break Is The Max Payne For This Generation Of Video Games

http://gamingcentral.in/quantum-break-is-the-max-payne-for-this-generation-of-video-games/

Max Payne was one of the first games that we at Gaming Central played on the PC, and it had a tremendous impact on how we looked at video games. It built our expectations from them, and instilled a belief in us that excellent story telling, visuals and gameplay can go hand in hand.

And this was almost fifteen years ago. Many games have come and gone since then, and except for the rare Half Life or BioShock or S.T.A.L.K.E.R., most of them have never given us that sense of satisfaction, or the feeling of pride at what Video Games are capable of.

And then came Quantum Break.

Remedy has been known for its critically acclaimed ground breaking games. With the dark gritty film-noir style story, slow motion effects and memorable characters in Max Payne, to the flashlight-and-gun wielding, supernatural-horror-themed with a touch-of-metal, atmospheric masterpiece that was Alan Wake.

Quantum Break is a culmination of the best aspects from those games, and takes giant new leaps. Where Max Payne told it’s story in a comic strip format, Quantum Break does so with interactions you have in the game world, be it the numerous memorable characters or a world brimming with interactive tidbits like e-mails, videos, posters, etc. all of which do a great job of reeling the player in.

And the gameplay is a blast to boot. Every encounter will have you switching between your arsenal of weapons and time-bending abilities. Its refreshing, fast paced, challenging, and incredibly fun. It feels like putting together pieces of a puzzle while everything is being blown to bits. Just because the game is narrative heavy does not mean that it’s light on the action. Its quite the contrary.

The included TV show is also done really well. Instead of focusing on the protagonist, it tells the story mostly from the perspective of the “evil corporation”, making you care about the characters on the other side of the fence. It adds more depth to the game, and also reflects the consequences of the actions you perform in the game. Its clear that a lot of work went into making this game what it is, and shows obvious respect for the player base that will play the game. With meaningful collectibles and high replayability, this game packs a lot of value.

Also, Quantum Break is a refreshing break away from the “Open World Syndrome” many Video Games are suffering from these days. High quality is the word that comes to mind. It’s what describe the game best. High quality. This is the game developers should look at and learn from. Add quality to your Video Games, not mindless quantity.

After beating the game to a 100% completion (full review coming soon), we can confidently say that Quantum Break is the game this generation of gamers need to play and experience.

Ugh I can't wait anymore. Just please work okay on PC...

Remedy hasn't made a crappy PC version yet, and there is a high chance they had a PC version worked on along side the Xbox version the entire time.

But with DX12/windows store exclusive you never know...

''Also, Quantum Break is a refreshing break away from the “Open World Syndrome” many Video Games are suffering from these days. High quality is the word that comes to mind. It’s what describe the game best. High quality. This is the game developers should look at and learn from. Add quality to your Video Games, not mindless quantity.

All the levels seem to be painstakingly crafted. I know I'll love to hunt for small things like in Alan Wake. As soon as I get sucked up into the atmosphere of the game I love exploring... ^^

8.5/10 from Jim Sterling who apparently got lost in time travel with the embargo, he obviously took it down from twitter but you know... internet

Quantum Break on Windows 10 is shaping up really well

http://www.windowscentral.com/quantum-break-windows-10-shaping-really-well

Even though it was a tightly controlled demo, Quantum Break seems to be firing on all cylinders on Windows 10.

The very fact we would have doubt is a sad prospect, but given the less than perfect introduction the Windows 10 Store has had with AAA games, it's there. Microsoft might be giving it away to Xbox One pre-order customers, but it's not to those who just want it on the PC.

Not that being free to anyone excuses anything.

It's fortunate then that from what we've seen, the Windows 10 version of Quantum Break is solid. Microsoft has been offering the British public it's first chance to get it's hands on the eagerly awaited title at the recent Insomnia Gaming Festival, on both PC and console.

The actual content of the demo is nothing different to that which you've seen already in our preview and our stream. But that's all in the hands of reviewers. This was the first time the general public could get their hands on Quantum Break, and that includes me. Since I'm not one of the cool kids.

Having tried both the Windows 10 and Xbox One versions there's little to say between the two. Graphically, the PC game looks sharper, which is understandable, and seemed almost completely glitch free. There were a couple of moments where things looked like they got a little out of shape, but equally that could have been one of the many special effects littered throughout the game. It was tough to tell. Maybe the very nature of Quantum Break could hide any glitches in plain sight?

But it was mostly smooth as butter, the animations on the faces look great, the movement is sharp and the action is fast and furious when the bullets start to fly. This may well be a controlled demo, but that doesn't always mean success. But as pointed out in our preview, the environments are sublime. There's so much detail, so many destructible objects and the effect that Jack Joyce's time bending powers have on the world around him will never get boring.

I didn't get long to play, but for my eyes there was no discernible difference between the two save for the graphics. And that's a good thing. It certainly didn't feel like Quantum Break has been rushed to the PC. Of course the true test will be April 5, when it gets into the hands of the paying public and onto PCs of varying hardware levels around the world. And playing with an Xbox One controller is so familiar, it really did feel like a better looking console experience. Aside from peering into a monitor and not a TV.

And what of the game itself? I played from the beginning, and the opening sucked me right in. I'm a sucker for a good story, something to immerse you in the action, and Quantum Break seems to have that in spades. I've also been hearing some of what our review team has been saying, and needless to say, I think this is going to be big.

Our full review of Quantum Break on the Xbox One will be with you in the coming days, and you won't want to miss that. I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time.
