[QUOTE="YzeroXY"]LMAO NO, it was confirmed by Nintendo , DS sold 13 million worldwide, 5 million goes to Japan. Do you think other 6 million was sold in Europe?
GTFO, you got owned.

There are other countries besides USA, Japan and the countries of Europe, you are aware of that aren't you?

Yes, but the DS has still sold more in total in the US...

So it is the same difference really...

I think 2006 will be the year to judge both these systems performance properly...

The PSP sold that much in 2005...

Why is it so hard to find recent numbers? I've been looking 4 two days and... Nothin'!

"Perrin Kaplan, VP of Marketing at NOA, said the DS has sold 3 million in North America this year so far, though holiday sales numbers are not yet available." - Perrin Kaplan

So DS has clearly sold more in TOTAL than the number you gave above, whereas that IS the PSP total number above, since it actually came out in 2005, whereas the DS came out in 2004...

The DS has the 2004 numbers and the holiday sales numbers to add to that 3 million...

So,

PSP > DS in 2005 sales in USA.

DS (most likely) > PSP in total sales in USA.

Yes, dead

Well, that remains to be seen, and that is kinda the point...

The PSP has sold thus far on the massive hype and Sony brandin...The DS has sold for a bit longer...So PSP has bigger 2005 sales and DS has bigger total sales...

2006 will make it a more level playfield....

Total PSP sales: march 2005 - end 2005
Moonblade128

Yup...

The PSP is still riding that hype train...

The DS is not, so I expected the first 6 months or so of the PSP sales to be much better than the later 6 months or so of the DS sales...

Now, in 2006, both machines will have went past HYPE sales and will be selling on equal terms, without headstarts (since that will likely we reduce to nothing soon anyway) or hype either...

Let's wait and see in 2006 eh, for US and Europe...

Just like we wated long enough to get a true representation of the sales in the likes of...

Japan...................

To be honest, I hate using sales numbers as arguements. Much wasted Gameplaying time put on sales to delude yourselves that you can jsutify a reason fo owning a console/handheld...

Thats it! I'm off to ONS-Torlan!

you missed the point entirely............which is Why even add together sales of systems that nobody even talks about anymore i know sheep are desperate to take away something from that fact DS got outsold this year in the US, but to use a handheld thats never even talked about here on system wars anymore is just desperation.

i was always lead to believe that this handheld war was between the DS and PSP since when has the GBA counted i mean do we have threads about its upcoming games or anything.............NO its all but been forgotten about until sheep feel there loosing a sales argument then suddenly the GBA matters

Also half the consoles you mentioned have been discontinued unlike the ps1 which can still be bought brand new today so adding all those together means nothing right now

Its kind of funny because GBA beat psp!greenprince

Let's see, there has been no GBA shortage.

  • The GBA costs less.
  • The GBA's sales are for the entire year.
  • The GBA has a bigger game library.
  • The PS2 is outselling xBox and xBox360.( I'm hoping that you are smart enough to see why I included this)

The thing is that outside Japan PSP seems to be hotter than the DS even though it has been out for a shorter time.

BTW, the Japanese mainly buy the DS for things like Nintendogs and Braintraining( don't hype this while you call you self hardcore gamers) which does't translate very well to the western culture, unless we are talking about kids.

your points was pretty good expect for the last part because ur targeted a specific, that only has a fraction of sales of ds and psp only won because of shortages which you said your self, by the way ps2 only beat xbox 360 because of shortages know ur frickin facts! your one the those people who are insecure and to play psp because it makes you feel mature.

i dont feel threatened by the DS though and i will readly except the PSP is gets it butt kicked in japan and definately wont try and deny it, but i will argue the case when someone posts info about the PSP outselling a competitor regradless of how much sheep try twist it by using the GBA as some kind of ownage thats why i said what i did because i dont really understand why sheep feel the need to bring up the GBA when the PSP gets some good sales news............i thought sheep were confident enough in the DS without having to resort to using the GBA sales i was cleary wrong

o.O The only portable I play is the GBA because of the two Golden Sun games and the first Advanced Wars.

I have no current plans nor the money to get a PSP, I just pointed out the reasons why the GBA outsold the PSP and from what I know there hasn't been a GBA shortage.

About the DS shortage, it's in Japa not in the states nor in Europe, there you can still find DSs on the shelves. It's not like Nintendo took the DSs outside Japan and flew them back 'home' to fill the holes.

The thing is that the Japanese have another taste in games compared to us westerners and I'm quite sure that we'll also see this reflected in next gen console sales where PS3 takes the west while the Rev will rule Japan like the DS does.

[QUOTE="potatopotatoboy"] [QUOTE="jaba328"]PSP will catch up in total sales, I think they'll both do equally very well in the long run.

And the stupid nintendo fanboy sales agruement will be dead.
freeload

Yes, dead

Well, that remains to be seen, and that is kinda the point...

The PSP has sold thus far on the massive hype and Sony brandin...The DS has sold for a bit longer...So PSP has bigger 2005 sales and DS has bigger total sales...

2006 will make it a more level playfield....

This year the sales will be influenced by the games themselves.

You self-owned yourself. You said that the PSP is winning, than why is the GBA ahead of it.

Well since you're targeting Nintendo trolls for ownage then I guess you just got self owned because it's Nintendo so GBA numbers plus DS numbers. OWNED.

couldnt cows do the same for PS1 and PS2 sales?

heh, so couldnt sheep do nes, snes, n64, gba, gba sp, gba micro, gcn, pokemon mini.......yeh, so i think....you just got pwned? yeh

you missed the point entirely............which is Why even add together sales of systems that nobody even talks about anymore i know sheep are desperate to take away something from that fact DS got outsold this year in the US, but to use a handheld thats never even talked about here on system wars anymore is just desperation.

i was always lead to believe that this handheld war was between the DS and PSP since when has the GBA counted i mean do we have threads about its upcoming games or anything.............NO its all but been forgotten about until sheep feel there loosing a sales argument then suddenly the GBA matters

Also half the consoles you mentioned have been discontinued unlike the ps1 which can still be bought brand new today so adding all those together means nothing right now

yet cows always bring up the gamecube losing to ps2 when people talk about the DS winning in Japan.
