This would be a day one purchase (again -_-) if true, and would give lots of players without a Vita some chance of experiencing this modern classic.

Im about 25 hours into the game on my vita, or else I would of got this. Highly recommend it to anyone who has not played.
Its my first jrpg and I was skeptical at first but now I am addicted to it.
April fools!
To make it very clear, this is not an April Fool's prank, this is on the ESRB website.
Dude no!!!!! This summer I bought persona 4 used (very hard to find and expensive) and a new controller to play on my old PS2. I have persona 3 on PS3 and am playing through that
I thought you could already download Persona 4 on psn (i could be wrong). are you taking about a port of the HD remake of the Vita version?
I guess if you dont have a vita this is your only option. The vita version being the best version and all.
Don't have a PS3.
Oh no, I won't get a chance to play this JRPG. How will I survive?
*goes back to play gta vice city stories on psp*
Time to play it with Chie's old voice actor (who has the voice of angels ^_^)
Chie > Quark
Makes sense, they had Persona 3, right? Anyhow, about time.
Anyhow, luckily my PS3 plays PS2 games and I have the PS2 copies. Though the possibility my old phat PS3 might break down seems less tragic now that many of the games I loved from my PS2 are on the PS3's PS Store and in game collections and PS3 remakes.
I kind of wish Atlus would just hurry up and release the other SMT games, Demon Summoner and Digital Devil Saga and Nocturne... hell, they could pack them all onto a single Blu-ray and have an SMT Collection.

lol wut? I bought Persona 4 off amazon for like $15. Its not hard to find.

I just heard a comperison and I have to say i like the new one better then old but thats not to say the old is bad.
I was thinking this would be a day one purchase but I was reminded that it wouldnt have Chie's good voice. I wont allow my ears to hear the best girl be ruined.
Just want to point out, Chie's new voice fits her personality waaay better. Anyone who prefers the old one is blinded (or in this case, deafened) by nostalgia.
@charizard1605:
I agree, her new voice was great as a voice, but the new one fits her aggressive yet tender personality more.

Yeah, and the new one sounds more like the bubbly teenager that Chie actually is.
I'm trying to ween myself off buying games for last gen systems and wish this was coming to PS4 as well. I've heard so many good things about P4, I may get it when it's cheap, just to see what the fuss is about. I've never played a Persona game before, can I just jump into P4 or will I be totally lost?
Yeah, each game is completely separate and independent, outside of minor one line references to older games.
If you have a Vita, you could just get Golden on that.
@charizard1605: Good to hear, I'll keep an eye out for it when it comes to PS3 since I don't own a Vita. If you want, just send me yours. I'll send it right back to you when I'm done. Promise. :P
Absolutely not, how would I play Persona 4 like I do daily if I sent you my Vita? :p
you are on f***ing dust. her new voice is HORRIBLE
It's not. Admittedly it's pretty awful near the beginning, but it gets really okay starting their first trip into the TV.
Is this just PS2 emulation, or is it going to be an HD release?
PS2 emulation. It's a PS Classic on the PSN Store, those are always emulation... like Sony's Virtual Console, basically.
@charizard1605: I'll ask my buddy Drops of Jupiter, he'll probably loan me his since he's WAY cooler than you. Selfish!
But... does he even have a Vita? :o
Still grinding my way through Persona 3, been over a year and a half but I find trudging through Tartarus to be extremely tedious and I can only play for small chunks.
I'm always interested in any game that gets as high a praise as Persona 4, but a JRPG is a dangerous thing to get into as they often don't even get "good" until 10-20 hours in. That's a lot of time to invest in a game you don't even know you'll like.
If P4 is more interesting and less grindey than P3 then I'll cop it. If it's more of the same I'll pass. Not to say that Persona 3 is bad. But 40+ hours in it's just ok. And these days I don't have that kind of time to blow on a title that's just "ok".
@getyeryayasout: Good day to you too!

Persona 4 is indeed less grindy than Persona 3. It also does not take as long to get going as Persona 3 does, and about 2-3 hours in, you're given full control.
Persona 4 essentially takes everything that was bad about Persona 3, and patches it up and fixes it to create what can only be called the perfect RPG. Note I didn't say JRPG, I said RPG.
Better than FF6, Chrono Trigger and Demons Souls? Me thinks that's Jibber Jabber.
I think it is better than those ones, yes.

To be honest I played both games and I think the grind levels for 3 were less then 4 since I hit 99 for my 3 main characters while in 3 I hit high but not that high. Also what was bad about P3 exacly? All I could think of is the dungions are much better in 4 then 3 but thats because each had a theme. Im just curious and personally if I had to choose between witch game I would choose 3 though that mainly cause I like the cast more in P3 then P4. I also felt that P3 had one meh character while P4 has 2 of them im looking at you rise and yukiko. In the end though I still like both of the games.
