Overrated cowboy game announced for PC - Released December

You mean wait a year after it's release date from last year? Gladly will wait to play the superior version; looking forward to playing this in 4K at 60 frames on my rig; along with the mods.

Yeah no joke, I was expecting later next year at the earliest and even then with an additional year long wait for the Epic exclusive to expire (if you didn't buy through R*). Two months away for Steam? Cool beans. Though I don't think my 1070 will cut it for this one, even at 1080.

I am curious how R* is going to integrate mouse support with the physics engine. It's not like the controller was the problem, it was the engine that made its motion so lethargic. This ain't going to be as snappy as CoD, no matter how much people want it to be.

It should do. My old GTX 1070 could run games like Assassins Creed Odyssey at 1080 60 with most of the settings at very high and that game has a bigger active world that RDR2. You may not be able to max it out perhaps, but it will look as god as the console versions and run much better.

Digital Foundry covered RDR2 on consoles extensively, pretty sure they'll cover this one on PC.

LOL I told ya it will be on Epic. I know it's not exclusive but it's still close, R* done it to limit the damage because they are in much better position to negotiate with Epic the deal.

I see what others liked about the game, but it's probably the most disappointing game I've played this gen. Most of the activities just felt like chores to me. It didn't help that some of the activities actually were chores. The game just was bloated with features that took too much time and weren't fun. It had a fast travel system, but you had to unlock it and it only worked from the camp. Travel without it was mind-numbing, and for a game that focuses on realism to the point of including boring things, they really didn't get horseback riding right at all. Horses are living animals that aren't just going to kill themselves by crashing into a tree like they do in this game. It wouldn't be that big of a deal except that you spend the vast majority of your time on horseback.

I don't generally like open world games, though, so it's kind of hard for this genre to please me.

Yeah no problem with it being on Epic. In this case it's a win-win-win.

Epic wins by having a big game on their platform. R* wins by having another sales channel. Consumers win because they have a choice.

It takes a very specific set of circumstances to trigger the masses regarding games on EGS. It just so happens that Epic themselves often seek out these specific set of circumstances.

So naive...when Rockstar Launcher came, I didn't even think that RDR2 would be reason for its existence nor only place to get it.

It's not even exclusive as it can be bought from rockstar as well, all humble etc keys are rockstar keys as well. So Tim basically paid a hefty sum just to keep it off steam for a month

You'd have to be a complete retard to assume it wasn't coming. 2010 and 2019 are very different years. That's easily 3M+ copies R* will sell for that game. Why would they ever pass that up?

Pretty stupid to expect it to be delayed significantly or never come out all on PC. Red Dead Redemption came out during a time that PC gaming wasn't treated as a high priority and seen as a money sink with piracy so bad that it supposedly affects console sales too. Because of that Rockstar half assed their PC ports and optimized their engine primarily for consoles with PC barely being an afterthought. Now with the current consoles sharing x86 architecture and identical off the shelf PC parts and PC gaming being more profitable than every they have no excuse to significantly delay or avoid porting RDR2 to PC, heck it should have came out the time as the consoles.

Yes, it's a straight up better game.

Finally I'll be able to shoot. Rockstar's controller aiming is so trashy, I felt forced to use Soft Lock Auto Aim, which is why I sold it after like four hours. I probably still won't buy it for a while, because the character's handling left a lot to be desired. Don't know why Rockstar thinks making the character so unresponsive and sluggish is realistic. I'm WAY more agile than that elephant.

Yeah, Rockstar is kinda shitty in general, so I expected it to probably be on Epic store but not Steam. At least it's on their own launcher as well. I probably wouldn't mind buying it on Epic, though; I'll just have to wait and see if I can get it cheaper on one of the platforms.

Any word on first-person mode?

Glad it's coming to Steam, I can totally wait until December. Although I don't really have a problem buying it from Rockstar directly, I Might do that.

Its good if your playing multiplayer or PvP but besides that its bad.

PC gamers will be the first to enjoy the game properly. No 30fps trash and reduced settings like the current gen consoles. It must suck being a lemm. No bragging rights at all. Nothing to call your own. Take your place....

Rockstar was probably tired of waiting for next gen consoles to release. That or they are content with people double dipping, instead of triple dipping.
