now that the game is actually out i thought we could start with a new thread to contain all the halo 3 talk. keep it here or in the halo 3 forum or be suspended. don't post in any other halo 3 threads or you could get modded right along with whoever made the thread.

NOTE: THERE IS TO BE NO STORY DISCUSSION WHATSOEVER IN THIS THREAD. PEOPLE WILL BE AT DIFFERENT PLACES AND HAVING THE STORY RUINED IN A GAME JUST PLAIN SUCKS. DON'T TRY TO BE CUTE AND POST FAKE STORY ELEMENTS EITHER.

I'm going to go play Halo 2 one last time w/ my friends starting as soon as my 360 cools down and the 3 rrod go away.

And Casey, is it too much to ask if all the Halo 3 story-talk is directed to the Halo 3 forums or some other thread?

I don't think many people are going to play the game 12 hours straight or whatever, and when they come here it may get spoiled for them if they want to just comment about their reactions so far.

I seen quite a few people buy the Halo 3 edition 360... Don't know if you got the box it's in mixed up with the legendary box.

Even Adam said he saw alot of people in-front of the line getting Halo 3 Xbox 360's.

Why didn't Halo 3 get a technical graphical achievement award, or, IMO, at least get an artistic achievement award?

Halo's famous/notorious art st yle aside, damn did Bungie use what they had to full effect. The overgrown ivy on the windows, the god rays through the trees, enclosed dark spaces to open, sunny landscapes -- it's seriously a winner.

Sorry, still shocked by what Bungie pulled off.

Best line I heard from a marine so far is this (teeny weeny spoiler so skip if you're that petty about it):

"Ok, Master Chief, will you be my friend?"

In Halo 3 MP? Yeah... they do lol.

When you got at least 4 people in a 25-kill slayer match and around 22 points each, that's close to 100 bodies everywhere. Ultra lag lol.

That being said, remember the Drones in the E3 07 trailer, holding a marine in the air? There's heaps of them, firing off everywhere. So I'm guessing it's just a netcode thing for the MP.

4 people that need to render almost one hundred real time bodies? Chugfest most probably.

i was pre-ordering halo 3 last week and the guy in front of me bought an xbox 360 halo 3 edition along with pre-ordering halo 3. well his girlfriend bought it for him. he is one lucky guy. she is a keeper.

No, I meant Halo 2. I ask this because in Halo 1 the bodies didn't disappear in MP (well they did, but there was a limit). But in Halo 2 if I remember right they disappear pretty much as soon as you respawn and I was wondering if that's the case.

Because if it is, then the feature came back. (You can see bodies on the ground in one of the GameTrailers videos)

Oh yeah, they disappear after awhile, not when you respawn straight away.

That's the impression I'm getting anyway. I didn't look too much into it, but yeah, they stay there for a significant amount of time.

This has the potential to be the most overrated game I have played. So far I'm very dissappointed with it. They just haven't been able to get the gameplay right since the original. The guns lack punch and something just doesn't feel right in both Halo 2 and 3. Sir_Graham

I have only played one game of multiplayer. It seemed similar to Halo 2 in most respects. Not all is bad though, the story is interesting and could be the best in the series. Worth playing but certainly not as good as I was excepting.

Halo 3 is refinement. Not reconstruction.

I was not hoping for a redesign at all. In fact I was hoping the game would be more similar to the original then Halo 2. The assault rifle is back but it does not feel like the assault rifle from the original.

Bah, I feel the same way unfortunately. I picked it up at walmart no fuss, played through the first level and put the controller down... I'll try the multi tomorrow, don't even feel up to being owned left and right. Back to Team Fortress 2.

1. because your fanboy goggles don't allow you to be surprised at someone not liking the inevitable GOTY

2. nothing will beat Halo 1, it was incredibly fun, Halo 2 and 3 had a different team making the games, there was no dual wielding or BR in Halo 1 duh, thats why 2 and 3 feel different (@ Sir Graham)

3. Considering Halo 2 is still better and will continue to be better than any online multiplayer game on ps2 or ps3, I think you know the answer.
