thats not as big a gap as i thought it would be considering how ms has lost soo many months. them holidays can make or break you i guess.

Just as an FYI, GAF July NPD sales threads puts July PS4 sales at 218k, not 205k, and the current gap at 800k.

New info cam in and the gap is about 30K instead of 17K.

The Xbone triped over and broke it's nose , and gets KO in a minute.

I know somewhere Tiger is trying to convince someone that this was a win for MS and the gap is shrinking...

If you look at the numbers hard enought , they will change , and show the true numbers , which are - Xbone 150k , PS4 2k.

This is a very small difference, I thought the difference was in the 2 million range.

That might be the WW sales difference.

The PS4 is like 10 million units ahead of the X1.

If the US gap is 800,000, then the worldwide gap should be about 9.2 million

Good for Sony and Microsoft. The gaming world is healthy when multiple systems are selling well (even tho I skipped the X1).

Man I hate it for Nintendo. I own a Wii U and got a ton of fun out of it but I'm getting close to selling off my system and I'm tempted to not even wait for Xenoblade. I believe it'll just come out on the NX as well since Xenoblade is one of the last games coming out on the system probably.

Uh oh, at 800k, the Sony needs only 300k to reach the gap of last year. This means that September and October must be won by Xbox or to lose with strong enough sales to prevent a 1.1 million lead.

If Sir Xbox cannot stop The Sony from reaching the previous years gap the war is over! Xbox ay possibly close the gap, or not, either way, if the gap is at the same level that would mean the PS4 sales are not wanning and that sir Xbox One will not be able to ever close the game. Phil Spencer will quit in shame as he jumps the Assassin's creed leap of fait into a pile of cow cake with needles in it. Tantalizing.

It's obviously interesting to some people.

It is very interesting, the sales will determine if their will be an Xbox next gen or if there will only be Playstation and Razer Ouya.

Nintendo continued to push out high quality first party games for the Wii U even when it was clear the system was dead. Sony tried for a grand total of one year (a year in which they missed no chance to sabotage themselves, I might add), and then called it quits.

The September Destiny bundle will put another 300k between the two consoles for a total of about 1.2 million in favor of PS4. Halo 5 and a bunch of desperate fire sales will put a dent in that number but black Ops and battlefront bundles and ads will help negate that. Best case scenario for MS is Xbone enters 2016 with a 100-200k lead, which it will promptly loose after the release of uncharted 4 and/or a pricecut, after which the Xbone will never lead again... In any region.

Yep, that's true! Even when the Wii U is a total flop, they still gave Nintendo gamers some First Party games and of course a couple of good 3rd party ones like Bayonetta 2. Sony's first party didn't even want to make games for the Vita and only hired second rate teams to make them.

TBH, in the beginning of t he Vita's life, they had the potential to finally knock down Nintendo's Handheld crown for the very first time. They had an impressive presentation and they managed to fix a lot of the PSP's problems and one of them is switching from UMD's to cartridges. Secondly, Vita had much better battery life than the 3DS. Nintendo fumbled completely with the 3DS launch as they put too much focus on the 3D gimmicks and "Integrated Software in the Hardware." Vita actually had a good launch line up. Last, Sony was able to match price w/the Wi-Fi version costing $250 vs the Value of the 3DS which $250 added 3D didn't added any value of purchase. It got Nintendo scared, and had to immediately go back to the drawing board and reshuffle the strategy focusing on games (Mario 3D Land, Star Fox 64 Remake, OoT Remake) and then had to cut the price.

The biggest missteps of why the Vita didn't succeed isn't just because of kids and casuals were more interested in mobile gaming, but the additional hidden cost applied to the system (proprietary memory cards over the standard SD cards and PSN Plus membership, also 3G owners had to have a wireless carrier contract with additional costs). Also, no one knew that Sony was losing money for every Vita sold at $250/$300 (3G version) so they couldn't cut the Vita price further to match Nintendo's, and Sony didn't truly changed their handheld strategy from the PSP (Portable console games over handheld designed titles).

Surprised X1 was so close to ps4, I predict august X1 will be #1 partly because of the madden bundle.

GamesCom wouldn't have any effect on July sales for XB1. Good sales though. Now bring those games.
