Nintendo Direct Announced For 1/14/2015, 9AM ET

I have a bad feeling about this new 3DS. It just doesn't seem special enough. I'd rather take that $200 and spend it on games instead.

I really want a release date for the new 3DS.

I'd also love an announcement for the next wave of amiibo. Praying for Ganondorf, Ness, and Lucina.

The biggest plus that I see is that I would finally be able to play Kid Icarus Uprising (assuming it supports the second analog). Other than that, it really doesn't have any major selling points yet.

Not sold on a new 3DS unless there's a Majora's Mask bundle that comes with a Majora's Mask-themed regular new 3DS with faceplates.

I want hear news about Mario Party 10.

I need to know if this game has multiplayer or not. No multiplayer = no buy

Based on previous Mario Party games it should be a single player narrative-focused game.

Yeah, it's pretty similar to Heavy Rain, really. I wouldn't get your hopes up for multiplayer, FreedomFreeLife. I just don't see how it could possibly work in a game like Mario Party.

Don't underestimate Nintendo's ability to disappoint. We could be getting A Wii Music U or have another Cranky Kong situation for all you know.

It really comes down to if you care about the 3D feature on the 3DS. The 3D in the n3DS is incredible going by everything I've read. I wager the normal one won't be $200.

Precisely. No expectations, no disappointment. If it is Wii Music, whatever. I wasn't expecting anything anyway. If it turns out to be something significant, like SMT X FE footage, I'll be nice and surprised.

Yoshi's Wooly World release date or bust!

Hoping it's the true sequel to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

In the fantasy world that I like to live in:

1. A Starfox Trailer.

2. A Zelda Trailer.

3. A Metroid Trailer.

4. A F-Zero Trailer.

5. A Release Date for Xenoblade Chronicles X.

6. Another Wii U Surprise.

What do I actually expect (Wii U wise):

1. Splatoon.

2. Yoshi's Wooly World.

3. Kirby.

I'm not excited in the least bit. Spring 2015 is horrendous for Nintendo. So hopefully a big release is announced.

It's a shame, because we'll still hear about Smash Bros with the Amiibos.

Nintendo surprises everyone when they announce they DO have an f-zero in development and Mario Kart 8 was just a silly test to try out the course design of the new F-Zero

The more I see splatoon the more I want it. I think it's the only game coming out soon that I'm interested in. Although I'll wait and see how dying light is reviewed.

actually, if i put my 3ds in the toilet when i got home - that would be the most i've used my 3ds in the past 12 months.

lol, that only makes it worse. Not only 3DS games are getting sparse, but the new games that matter wont play at all or way worse on 3DS.

nobody's forcing you to buy the new 3DS. there isn't even a major reason to own one until xenoblade chronicles comes out, which won't be for a while.

and if you really want one you can trade one in to gamestop for $75/$100 if it's a regular or XL. or sell one for an even higher price. you'd be surprised how many other people don't care about getting a new 3DS and just want a relatively cheap 3DS, period.

The point is that buying a 3DS should give access to all 3DS games. Like every single other console does. Sure i could sell it and rebuy all my digital games again and pay an unthinkable ammount of money, but i would rather buy systems that dont try to trick me into paying double.

To be fair, you should have seen this coming. It's not the first time Nintendo has done it.

Although, this time it does seem a bit worse since it's fucking Xenoblade we're talking about here! Would've been like releasing a New Vita with Uncharted 2 as its first exclusive. Oh, the shit storm that would've caused... I can almost taste the tears!

But hey, it's Nintendo. They can do whatever they want, people will still put them on a pedestal. Especially here, in SW. This place is Sheep Central.

@hernandezzzz: A more proper comparison would be an Uncharted PS3 port on a beefed up Vita. Not a brand new game. If the new 3DS launched with a brand new 3D exclusive Zelda you bet there'd be more people pissed. Im sure some peope would be upset not being able play Uncharted 1 or whatever on Vita but no one one would care much since its an old game.

@hernandezzzz: For some reason I assumed you meant a sequel to the Vita game. Regardless, I guarantee that the backslash for that would be similar to Xenoblade on n3DS. Its just a port, not an original game. Some cows would complain, some would upgrade (they're not called cows for no reason) but most would not think its such a big deal since its a port. An old port. Build some high profile AAA IP around it and there will be problems.

Mario Party is not similar to Heavy Rain. I understand Heavy Rain single-player point but Mario Party is Party game. Don´t see work? I played PC games and there are so many board games and 2 hour stratregy games where we have multiplayer and people play. You know playing single-player Mario Party is damn boring against bot. If you say "meant to play with friends" then im 100% sure nobody invites friend everyday to play this game.

Have you played game Fortune Street Wii? This is like 100% mario party but more difficulty and longer and it had online and it was very very popular.

Saying it wont work is like saying that Battlefield is meant for single-player only.
