I called this - GDC 2008 MS Keynote is kicking rear. Yeah, it's a little dry because they're talking to developers, but - XNA (meaning you and your friends could make your own games for Xbox LIVE!), Gears of War with destructable environments... this is ramping up.... this is really ramping up.

Now c'mon MS, pull the sheet, show GeoW and the new SKU.

They didn't announced GeOW2

They used GeOW to demonstrate the new unreal engine and skipped right over "GeOW2", said nothing about it

Hmmm. The XNA stuff sounds kind of good. POKER SMASH is brilliant and they did an excellent job of designing the various features so as to ease you into the whole thing. The 2D platformer thing sounds interesting.

I can't wait to see whatever that Gears tech demo was. It sound slightly amazing.

Wow, Community Games is the biggest step in user-created content we've see on the console side.

XNA is a toolset that lets small developers rapidly build games without a large technical expertise or budget. In essence, it's going to integrate into LIVE and Windows PCs to let anyone who wants make *free* games for Xbox and PC. It will be a community regulated by other developers, so in essence, developers will peer-review each others games, and for a nominal yearly fee will be able to distribute.

In essence, it's going to let all of those tens of thousands of freelance developers team up to produce an estimated one thousand games a year for you.

Well microsoft has given you a taste of what to expect from GeoW 2 and kept the announcement for E3 as this is DEVELOPERS conference.

If what the guy described about that Gears tech demo was remotely true then all the people who said GEARS was the peak of 360 power are eating a lot of crow right now.
