What are the differences between the two versions?

Well, in spite of the fact that this was originally a 3DS game, the Wii U version very clearly seems to be superior:

• The Wii U version is HD, while the 3DS version is 3D
• The Wii U version has online play; the 3DS version does not
• The Wii U version has voice chat; the 3DS version does not
• The Wii U version supports USB keyboards as an alternate control method; the 3DS version does not.

Demos for both versions hit the eShop on February 21.

Souls has arguably harder minions

MH has much much harder bosses

You can more or less brute force your way through Dark Souls if you wanted to thanks to lock on and patience to farm souls to level up. You are not brute forcing your way through anything in MH (Boss wise anyway).

Vitas Killzone Merecenary, Tearaway,Soul Sacrifice and possibly MH4 say HI !

How in the heck could the 3DS version not support online play? That is a travesty! I will probably get the Wii U version, but more excited for MH4 :D

Kinda interested in playing the 3DS version once I get one.

You can count on Capcom in milking a game dry.

Since I don't have a Wii U, I'm gonna continue playing the Wii edition online until the online shuts down.

Next year we can look forward to Super Ultra Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate 3D Edition for 3DS, now with online :P
