Yeah this year has been average compared to last year but this year we did get ME3, Halo 4, Dishonored, Borderlands 2 and Journey.

If you actually played any games this year instead of just reading reviews, 2012 didnt suck at all.

2012 might not have the amount of games 2011 did, but it wasn't lousy. It still gave us Mass Effect 3, Darkness 2, Max Payne 3, Darksiders 2, Borderlands 3, Sleeping Dogs, and all the fall games. There is also plenty of Arcade/PSN games and more games I didn't list. People complain too much when there is plenty to play.

i liked 2011 with the releases of dark souls, skyward sword, skyrim (admittedly, i got it on PS3 so it took until 2012 to really shine), l.a. noire, and portal 2. although putting them in perspective, dark souls and maybe portal 2 are all that i'd consider among the generation's best.

in 2012, i've particularly liked journey, closure, dishonored, sound shapes, and dragon's dogma. i would put journey, closure, and dishonored among the generation's best. plus i still want to get around to the unfinished swan, papo & yo, dyad, and the new xcom.

they're both solid years, but i'd probably give the edge to 2012. dark souls is so much of the reason i enjoyed 2011 in gaming that i'm appreciating the range of 2012 more.

I find it funny that we keep getting told that we have no good games to play for the pc, yet nearly all the Pc gamers in this thread have too many and seem more than happy with the games this year.

At the moment im playing through Hawken,Dota 2,Raiderz,Mechwarrior online,Black Mesa,Smite,Tribes Ascend,Auto club revolution,leauge of legends, i could list a few more and these are just the free to play games once i add up the indie games like kerbal space program,Torchlight 2 etc,the AAA games like XCOM, Borderlands 2 etc etc there is not enough hours in the day,i quit my job 2 months ago and all i have been doing is gaming and i still dont have the time to get through everything.

I could mention mods but i think i have gone on long enough.

I really do feel for the people that can't find anything to enjoy because this year for me is like a gaming garden of eden.

Resistance 3 looked liked Resistance, but it was still a CoD ripoff.

Resistance is a terrible series, so you should be thankful it played more like CoD (though I also personally think CoD is a poor excuse for an FPS).
