how's the story? does it address your relation with Kessler
***SPOILER***
strangeisland
The story is great. It's an awesome follow up to the first game, but what you mentioned was already explained fully in the first game.
Kessler called himeslf Kessler when he arrived in the current timeline to prevent being confused with his future self (Cole)
I love the mission editor but Sucker Punch is really dropping the ball with the support. The You tube tutorials are terrible and there is no written documentation to be found yet. Even so, I've slowly gotten used to it and I'm learning by focusing on things like pathing and NPC behavior instead of trying to do an entire mission, which I've done but I wanted to increase the scope of it and ran into a major brick wall....
i just got to the part were kuo discovered her powers.....i spent hours trying to understand the UGC WITH NO MANUAL
i could only publish one but check it out if you have a chance, it's just a battle fight in the town square by the casino's directly across zeke's and cole's place on the first area...... and it's called
A night in new marias
tell me if it's too easy or too hard please
heretrix
bro...i had a funny ass mission that i wanted to make but the setup is way to complicated, i mean the time it takes to program the AI is rediculous....
Beat the game and I have to say it's a worthy sequel, much better than the original. Great variety in the environments and the gameplay, and the reveal of the Beast's identity definitely lived up to my expectations. I was actually surprised. Just saw the good ending and will play for the evil ending at a later time, but definitely a AAA title for me.
Just finished my good run through. Frickin' sweet game.
TheMoreYouOwn
Same here. Now time for evil.
I'm just gonna finish the second island's optional quests and maybe get the trophies for all the dead drops and playing the UGC... Then it's on to my evil run through :P

Following spoiler deals with ending of evil in the second game
doesn't that mean "Kessler" was The Beast when he returned to the past? Unless it was right before the ending to the second.
i finished it this morning, great game.
movement is still pretty lame though until you get the tether.
ice launch and car launch are 80% useless and until you get the tether there you are tapping the x button20 times to get to the top of a building. i don't know why it bugs me so much maybe because it's so slow and clumsy.
they should have given you the tether right off the bat.
Chutebox
I don't think Kessler had any idea he would become the Beast. I think he saw the Beast and went back in time.
Ice Launch is very useful when running across rooftops and getting out of trouble.i finished it this morning, great game.

Are you serious? I thought the tether was the most useless move in the game because Ice launch is so much quicker and useful. I seriously think ice launch is the greatest move in the game. It just makes getting around about 80% easier and enjoyable

i just started my evil runthrough but maybe i will reload my older game and see if i was doing it wrong or something.when i first tried it the launch was tiny and it didn't seem very usefull.

Ice Launch into Static Thrusters = Massive Air. And Infamous 2 has the quick switch option so there are no excuses.

Just finished my good karma playthrough. Zeke was a total bro in this game.mrmusicman247Indeed. He needs a bro fist.
Yeah, he completely made up for his terrible choices in the first game
Basically zeke made all the evil karma decisions in inFAMOUS 1 then did a 180 and made all the good karma decisions in inFAMOUS 2

Yeah agree. I'm not sure how you saw Ice launch as usless. One of the handiest powers in getting around, actually.

i just loaded up my old game and you guys are right it's better than i thought it was. maybe i didn't have improved thrusters when i got the launch so it didn't seem usefull at the time.i also rely on kinetic pulse alot and hardly ever took it out of that slot.

So is there a fire equivalent to the ice launch?ChuteboxNope, that's why I kind of dread playing on evil. Ice Jump is like a damn drug. Oh, I stand corrected. I hear you get all powers when you finish the game twice, so that's a plus.
Just finished it. Great game and well worth an 8.0+ rating imo. This is the best game I played that scored under 8 here at Gamespot this gen. Not sure if I'm going to doing an Evil / Hard playthrough though ..... or spend my time with what's next in line - possibly Portal 2 or L.A.Noire. I could shock the world and platinum this beast of a game , or challenge my noodle a little with a fresher experience. Deciions , decisions.

You have the firebird stike which is useful for horizontal movement, not exactly vertical. You use the firebird a few times in a row and you can get around pretty quickly across rooftops.
Reading through the posts, It seems obvious to me that the majority of opinions of those that have beat the game feel that this InFamous 2 review was probably one of the most accurate reviews in Gamespot.com history. Not comparing the Gamespot.com score to Metacritic or other sites, more from the testimony of the users in this thread. Tom McShea scores one again! :P

It wasn't pretty, but that situation was worse as GS hired at that time, a sports game Reviewer to review that Ratchet Game... and the review complained about the game having " Too Much Variety" :?, I think it was his first Ratchet game, if I remember the details correctly. :idea:It was also noteworthy that the developer, Insomniac games (Spyro, Ratchet, Resistance, etc.), even spoke up about that particular Gamespot.com review, which almost never happens. It was pretty rough. That Sports Game reviewer is no longer employed by GS, an in fact, complained about Uncharted 2 at another website, going so far as to compare U2 to his friends death. He has had quite a career in fact... :P

Quotation signs do not neccesarily mean a direct quote, They're also used to paraphrase.
Edit: And don't you dare have a go at Mr. S! He's a somewhat rare visitor these days, he's the undisputed king of SW and he's the closests thing we'll ever see to a real Duke Nukem.

A paraphrase is supposed to condense the source into its central meaning. "Too much variety" oversimplifies the point made in the review to make it look stupid when it really wasn't, and so it misses the point entirely.
But I guess it's hard to remember whether that phrase is a quote or not considering how it's rolled out in every conversation about the game.

I stopped by for a moment, as I don't have a lot of time, but wanted to leave a joke for all you wonderful System Warriors...and then, since I was pressed about ToD, I tried to succinctly answer another question prompted after my tiny joke, with a tiny paraphrase and some backround on Aaron Thomas.
I don't say this enough Filthy, but I have always loved the cut of your jib, have fun with Infamous 2 oh Binary mang! :P

Where did he do that?
The only article I know he mentions both Uncharted 2 and his friend's death is this one
http://bitmob.com/articles/nobody-should-care-that-i-dislike-uncharted-2
and he didn't compare them, he brought his friend up to remember people what's really important in life and take things like gaming less seriously.

He phrased it badly but years later I played it and I agree with him to an extent. There was a falling minigame where you had to tilt the Sixaxis around to move Ratchet, a dancing minigame which was a trivially easy Guitar Hero type thing, a pretty poor on rails shooter bit (reminded me of Gummi ship from Kingdom Hearts) and so on, it all felt half baked. The core stuff was fun, platforming and shooting, that other stuff felt forced just for the sake of variety so years later I get his point :PPlease Log In to post.
