I just found it funny when some posters called it a GTA killer.

good score, but I dont really like IGN reviews......

GTA IV is becoming way too serious for its own good. Some fans can even accuse Rockstar of selling out, sacrificing fun for realism. GTA IV is a game on its own, forsaking what made GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas so appealing.

Saints Row 2 can be bashed for not being realistic, for being too over the top. But that's what the developers are aiming for, a fun sandbox game that is picking up where Rockstar dumped to the side.

Both games are great, it's just that now, there's officially a split in the Sandbox genre. The realistic side pioneered by GTA IV, and the fun side that's picked up by Saint's Row.

GTA4 after its releases has all ready been widely accepted as unworthy of its 10 score from most outlets let alone a 9.5 score, its simplistic old hat go here sell some drugs, go here kill this guy missions with no variety at all, and next to nothing to do besides those missions except listen to your friends incessently nag you about bowling...yeah sorry saints row 1 and 2 are vastly superior simple as that.

Except that, y'know, most review sites gave it excellent scores. I'm sure that if it had been undeserving of its 9.5 and 10 scores it wouldn't have gotten them.

good point, one man's trash is another man's treasure. I thought it looked alright, though the overthe top aspects and gang banging lifestyle is what kept me turned off from san andreas. Hit too close to home to be fun for me.

Hey, that's not bad. I think the Saints Row series should serve to those who want a GTA style game, but also want the goofiness and comedy that Vice City and San Andreas contained. It would be...in the developer's best interest if the game went that direction.

Funny Fun Fact: One of my friend's teacher's actually was college roommates with the guy who wrote the script for the first Saint's Row. Apparently he used a lot of stuff that the used to talk about back then (like the wendy's clone in the game...they used to call wendy's that.) and a lot of their friend's personalities were in the game (not the teacher's, though)

Anyway, an 8.2 on IGN = Impressive. So its a decent score. I believe if the graphics was atleast an 8.0 the game would've scored 8.5 or so.

I think the Saints Row series should serve to those who want a GTA style game, but also want the goofiness and comedy that Vice City and San Andreas contained. It would be...in the developer's best interest if the game went that direction.

This shouldnt be news to anyone, one of the developers said it'll be another 2 years before all PS3 games start to look better than 360 games... so basically what they were saying it Saints Row 2 will look better on the 360.

Doesn't EBGamestop have that trade-in deal where you live? 2 games + $15 = Saints Row 2.

Well since my wallet is in a recession right now and I'm buying LBP and Fable 2 this month, I might hold off buying this fun looking game called Saints Row 2. I might give it a rent first and if it grows on me I'll get it later on but not this month.

hahaha this is why i love gta.....all the funny lines from some of the coolest characters out there
