It seems that the more complex systems get, the more problems they have. My launch 360 lasted 15 months before it died. I bought another, didn't want a refurb, and it lasted 16 months. My newest 360 seems to be working fine. My launch Wii started failing within a week of owning it. Nintendo replaced it in days. That Wii continues to work. I've had a PS3 since 6 months after its launch without error.
One 360 for the disc tray not working/locking up. We've got a PS3 I've had since March of last year and two 360's one that I got about a year after launch (took back and replaced it a few months later due to the disc tray) and a RE 5 red Elite.
Last month, within two weeks of each other, both my 360 and Wii died. I got my Wii at launch, and the 360 was just 14 months old. I had to pay for them both to get fixed and there was a week where I was consoleless.
I actually had a Sega Saturn with nothing wrong with it them my dad gave it away. That woulda been worth heaps nowadays I have two PS2's. One is the old chunky one. No problems yet, just makes a funny sound when the disc tray opens. I have a new, tiny, skinny little one. Brought it last year and only plays a few certain games and DVDs don't work.
my wii has died on me twice, and my DS once, my PSP temporarily died but I changed out the batteries and memory stick and it worked again so IDK if that counts...
None yet. However, I did have to replace my first Xbox 360 which I got in 2006. After abouta couple of years, it started to show big black, triangular glitches in games which would flash on the screen. So I replaced it with a Core and kept my hard drive.

because the system didnt officially die, it just glitched, just like I dont count my PSP as dying when I replaced it because every once in a while it froze up (not permanatly, but it was annoying enough that I bought a new one.)

Well technically it wasn't dead, but the problem probably would have gotten worse so it was probably dying, so yeah, you could count that.
Of all 3 systems funny enough, only my Wii died on me when Brawl came out it refused to read the dual layered disc, later found out it was a large bunch of launch Wii's didn't have a strong enough Diode to read Dual layered discs, became a early christmas present for someone who would never look at a it past Wii sports. Had to go buy me a new one.
ps3 died 2 twice( 9 months then 4 months) 360 died once. 8 months and now so far lasting over a year

Damn, that's just bad luck... I think I had an attari fall on us once, but I was too young to remember, other then that, my dad shipped my older PC to me in 2006 and he didn't get insureance. So, I guess UPS desided to teach me a lession and beat the piss outta it... was absolutly unbelieveable... PC PS3 and 360 are in a climent controlled room in my house now (was 100+ Farinheight today) and they've worked fine since I got them.
