Nope... Tablet PC in a box don't make me want it.

I'm interested if I don't have to build a my own PC and the Steambox will be able to handle every Steam game I have.

Aware me on what is steambox?

I think this should help.
Thanks brahDepends what the hardware is like and if it's priced well. Either way I'll get a PS4 before I get a steambox, but I'd certainly get one down the line if the hardware is good and the price is good. I'll be honest. The only thing that remotely makes me interested is Steam sales. In general I don't give a crap about pc gaming. I still don't. I just like steam sales. Steambox is basically a console with steam on it. Win win......if the hardware is good and the price is right.
I'm not. I've got a PC with Steam already on it, and I prefer the idea of custom-building my PC rather than buying a pre-built computer.
Not me, It's basically a Laptop, I have a Desktop PC which can be upgradable, I think Steambox is targeted at Console players.
This is why I believe the Steambox will flop. All Valves/Steams fans are PC gamers. PC gamers don't want to buy a device that is basically just a weak PC. Console gamers don't really know, or care about Steam in general. I don't get what market Gabe is aiming at.
[QUOTE="campzor"]if the steambox is for pc games, why would i buy it when i would most likely need a keyboard/mouse to play the game (a rts for example) and therefore wont be able to play it on the couch, and would need a computer/laptop.DragonfireXZ95The Steambox is going to have its own controller. Having said that, I'm not interested in the slightest. I'll stick with my PC, thanks. what games though? Pc games (company of heroes / dota / etc...) or multiplat games that are on the consoles already? Because how are you going to play the pc games well with a controller? I rather just get a pc personally

.. That doesn't make much sense.. A laptop is portable.. A desktop pc inless you have a itx is a pain in the ass to take to a friends house.. Or other such things.. If anything as a pc gamer this gives even more reason to get it if they do not own a portable computer.. I sure as hell am getting one as a pc gamer if its good when it comes out.

Wrong if it provides the flexiability of the pc in supporting things like mods.. WHILE being portable, affordable and easy access, I sure as hell will get one as a secondary machine.

And what if it gets weak eventually? PC hardware will continue to evolve while STEAMBOX will stay old like consoles.I was interested in Steambox before Steambox was even a thing.
I so interested in it, I built it myself, (and a few Thanks to a few Gamespotters that helped. ).
If you're interested in a Steambox, I must ask why haven't you built one now?
(for those of you that don't know what I'm talking about. It's called a PC.)
No interest in something thats made by valve thats not a game such an overrated company yeah steam is awesome buy i have it on my laptop and my desktop.
Yet PC fan boys will still say valve is just doing what is right for the industry really valve is not your friend they are only doing what is right for valve.
Not a single bit. My PC is more than capable of playing PC games at their highest quality with my i7 and GTX 680. Also, I'm also planning to buy a PS4 and already have a wii-u. So i have no plans on buying a steambox. Or for that matter the next xbox lol. My gaming desires shall be covered by PC, Sony and Nintendo.

[QUOTE="heretrix"]Half Life 3 exclusively for SteamBox??? :P Lets game soon brother....I have a PC that can play pretty much anything out there. I have no need for it, unless they start making exclusive games for it. And that would be really annoying.
TheEroica
If Valve is stupid enought to do that then... I dunno what I have to say. I'll miss out on Half Life 3 if it's just a steambox exlusive. It better be on PC, or they can kiss my money goodbuy as I'm not willing to shell out money for a steambox when I already own a PC fully capable of more than a steambox.

At CES all the rage was these micro PCs having modular hardware, so you can quite literally take out parts and swap them over; like a PCI board or those old Pentium 3 CPU heatsink things that plugged into the motherboard like a RAM module. Big difference is the formfactor, it's crazy stuff.Wrong if it provides the flexiability of the pc in supporting things like mods.. I too am curious about the technology; and am a big supporter of competiton in the marketplace (we all benefit after all). Should be interesting for sure!
I am curious, and if it is what I think it is then yes I will be getting it.
I have 4 TV's in the house in different rooms, (in addition to my gaming PC) I have some 220 games on Steam currently. If I am able to use the steam box to play any of my steam library on any of those TV's whenever I want (or even at the same time) picking up from my last save game, and if it is also a streaming HTPC that will also stream to those TV's in a slick HTPC interface (like XBMC) from my NAS whenever I want, then I cannot wait for it.
The biggest investment in gaming is in that actual games themselves, the hardware is the cheap part. So to have the ability to have my library of games available anywhere-anytime in the house is a no brainer to me. To play on my PC, then go play in the home cinema room, then go to bed and play on my TV in my bedroom ... all with the same content available to me without me having to move my PC or console every time I want to do this, would be friggin awesome.
That is, if it is what I think it is of course.
[QUOTE="heretrix"]Half Life 3 exclusively for SteamBox??? :P Lets game soon brother....That would suck and would probably make me hate Valve. we will game soon :) . I'm in the middle of switching all of my stuff around. I should be back in business soon. With the first of many "Steam Box" computers making its debut at CES, Valve boss Gabe Newell has really opened up to The Verge about his company's hardware plans, revealing that the range of gaming PCs might be even more ambitious than we would have imagined.
Some of the main things he touches on:
Valve's own Steam Box (Gabe actually refers to it as this) will be sold by Valve and will run Linux, though you can install Windows on it if you want. "This is not some locked box by any stretch of the imagination", he says.
The controller shipping with Valve's Steam Box won't use motion, but as expected, they will probably use some kind of biometric feedback. "Maybe the motion stuff is just failure of imagination on our part, but we're a lot more excited about biometrics as an input method." He also mentions gaze-tracking as being "super important".
Valve wants you to make your own Steam stores. "Some people will create team stores, some people will creates Sony stores, some people will create stores with only games that they think meet their quality bar. Somebody is going to create a store that says 'these are the worst games on Steam.' So that's an example of where our thinking is leading us right now."
The Steam Boxcode-named "Bigfoot" at Valvewon't just be a PC. It'll be a server, too, with the near future enabling you to "have one PC and eight televisions and eight controllers and everybody getting great performance out of it". The LAN party just made a comeback. Only without all the cables.
