God of War got 22 nominations. Spider-Man got 21. Detroit become human got 16. Nintendo exclusives collectively had a few. Microsoft "Exclusives" got 0.

On the bright side, Crackdown 3 might score above a 4.

Amazing but the credibility is suspect when freakin' Spider-Man got 21. A generic open-world game.

@Juub1990: The only studio in history to nail the web swinging. I'd say it's well deserved.

Any Marvel/Comic fan like me will always praise Marvel's Spider-Man PS4, that game was indeed revolutionary over the previous Spider-Man games that has came before and despite it's repetitive, the swinging part was well done. A true sequel to Spider-Man 2 game we all be waiting for.

@lundy86_4: Agreed, cows have it in for CD3 it seems. Kind of sad to see. Tbh I've never heard of NAVGTR either but they got excellent taste in games ?

@XVision84: True that. GoW was the biggest shocker for me, and I posted before release that I was a little wary due to the change in direction from previous titles. Game was dope.

@i_p_daily: Don't fret, I've always told you buddy, there's nothing wrong with third place. Participation trophy is still a trophy :)

@lundy86_4: I'd like to see that more from AAA titles. A lot of them are playing it too safe these days which is why people are praising the indie scene.

Still think its crazy how it won over RDR2 in so many places, but its a good game nonetheless

To be fair, Xbox fanboys can't actually focus on one PS4 game to hate on since there are so many. Instead, they resort to blanket statements like "movie game."

With there being so few Xbox exclusives, Sony fanboys don't have much of a choice.

RDR2 was simply Hypest Game of the Year, once gamers actually got a hold of it, a very large amount of gamers ended up bouncing right off of it. This was due from my understanding to the hyper-focus on absolute realism. God of War had nowhere near the hype of RDR2 and delivered so much anyway, that says alot.

yea I personally love the realism stuff so from my perspective that just made it even better but you are right, its less accessible than GoW, and very slow paced which always turns some people off.

I played through the opening, and a couple hours or so into the main story and so many other games dragged me away. It's incredibly well made, but it became too much of a drag early on for me.

@with_teeth26: @lundy86_4: I suspected as much. RDR2 looks incredible but I seen other gamers stating it's a drag once the hype wears off. God of War just happens to combine with story & combat-wise making it a good game for what it was.

@davillain-: Yeah, GoW slowed it down on occasion (in the boat,) but it could maintain that fun combat and a semi-decent story. Plus, Mimir just made the game a treat to play later on. RDR2 became far too much of a drag. There's no denying RDR2 is an absolute gem of gaming, but it's gonna be difficult for some to play through.

@davillain-: It seems people are split on RDR2 in that aspect. I enjoyed it a lot because it's very grounded and realistic, but I can totally see why others might get bored. I personally don't think it should be a negative on the game insofar as it's a design decision.

I don't think its a drag, you just need to adjust to its pace. I feel like we've been trained to play open world games in this ADD manner that involves running between map icons but RDR2 is all about the stuff that happens between those icons

Its similar to how the original Mafia made you follow traffic laws; either it drove you insane, or immersed you completely.

Not only that, but they released numbers for spiderman last week but not a peep of god of war. spider man sold 9 million which means god of war is less than that.

@KBFloYd: It's a very critically acclaimed game, plus a lot of fun to play I'm sure. Nevertheless, they no doubt expected it do better than it has. This is God of War after all, one of Sony's heaviest hitters.

each call of duty sells like 20 million on there. NBA 2k games sell like 10million. GTA another 20 million. battlefield 10million each game.

thats like 60million of the ps4's 90 million install base right there. plus the people that buy it for blu-rays and netflix. plus the 9 million that actually buy exclsuives
