Maybe Sony will catch up soon with their 700,000 PSNow subscribers

Gamepass is arguably the only subscription service worth staying on.
I've done EA Origin Access, Ubisoft Uplay, and I think one other one and while they were worth it for a time, in the end the new content they added was not frequent enough or quality enough.
I mean Ubisoft essentially said, after their poor 2019 performance, "we are not releasing any new titles for a long time" so honestly what's the point of staying subscribed? Only reason I am still subscribed is because the sub includes "deluxe" versions of two games I play a lot of (Anno 1800 and The Division 2), so I could stay subbed for two years and it would still be a good deal.
PS Now isn't the same type of service ... I'm not sure why anyone has ever compared the two. I'd be interested in seeing Xcloud launch numbers vs PS Now.
Fwiw, PS Now had 1m subscribers as of October 2019. I think Sony projects the number of subscribers to be about 2m in their FY2019 (March 2020).

So PS NOW has been out for nearly 5 years now and only has a million subs, and you reckon another million will sign on in 5 months LOL.
I'm not a fan of the service because I like to play my games at my own pace, not hurrying to finish a game before it leaves the service.
Well that and I like to own my games & physical discs.
I love it and can't imagine not having it now. I've earned two free months with Microsoft points over the past week. It's an unbelievable value that is unmatched by the competition.
Just not big fan of any kind of streaming service in games. Just look TV streaming right now and that’s how game streaming will be in the near future every company will have its streaming service and you have to subscribe to it and monthly fees will increase over the years. As i always said MS is not selling games or games consoles just services
That's what happens when you basically throw the service at people. How many deals where there? Yep fail.
That's what happens when you basically throw the service at people. How many deals where there? Yep fail.
Well personally I'm not interested in it at the moment, just doesn't fit my gaming routine.
But I gotta ask, what's wrong with having deals and providing a subscription that many users see as a good value? Being on the consumer end, how do you interpret that as a negative?
How can you ignore the $1 price? It's the only reason I got it. I only played Ori but it seems like a good service. I wouldn't mind getting PSnow again either.
The title is wrong and so is the OPs PSnow figures. If you're gonna use last April's numbers, why not do the same for gamepass? Also the title says 10 million ACTIVE users. Nowhere in that link does it say those are active accounts. Mine expired a few months ago, so that $1 I spent would be included in that 10 million number.
Great value and saving me money, no question as to why it is getting more popular. Plus, their activity spiked with all the social distancing taking place but they didn't suffer for it, unlike **head nod**, they've handled it like champs.
Now do the math. Latest PSNOW's numbers are close to 2 million at $10 a month vs. Gamepass 10 million at $1 a month.
Sony is generating $20 million a month with their service
Microsoft is generating $10 million a month with their service
Humm, okay? Basically Microsoft is throwing away their service and yet making less money.
@kazhirai: Xbox live has 90 million ?
Pathetic!

Considering their XB1 marketshare is substantially smaller than the PS4's, being much closer in terms of services shows much higher user engagement for Xbox gamers, but this has been the case for years, going as far back as last gen.

He's a hardcore cow that's how its a negative, no shit he is a hardcore cow lol.

Does it matter if Sony kills them in gaming revenue every quarter?
You cow alts are easy to spot.
I await but I have a Switch/PC/Xbox replies from you 2 lol.

If you check my previous posts, then you'd know I mainly play on the PC, but of course your lemming brain is injected with xbox juice.

Oh I "primarily" play on PC, geez I haven't heard that one before, I mean someone even made a meme specifically for that answer lol

Yes believe it or not some people play multiple systems, but if you'd like to know the Xboxone is the only one I don't play and for good reason. But yes, PC/Switch/PS4 for life. Now go play your Kinect little lemming.

Oh I know people play multiple systems, that's doesn't mean they're the fictional thing SW likes to call "manticore" because they will always fanboy one over the other. There are plenty of people on here that do exactly that.
You're the same thing little cow alt.
You can tell when someone's an alt, as when they reply/quote you they will talk about everything except touching on the alt part lol.
You are a virus and sooner or later the mods (vaccine) will eradicate you lol.
Have a nice alting day :)
It's a great service and you have to be an idiot to not acknowledge that.
First party titles day one. (FH4, Gears 5, Ori 2, etc)
A good variety of 3rd party AA and AAA. (Doom, Metro Exudos, RDR 2, DMC5, etc)
Really good selection of smaller titles. Outer Wilds one of the biggest surprises of last year (Giant Bomb's goty) was there day one. Now we have Streets of Rage 4 day one too.
To me the best thing about Gamepass it's the discovery of titles I end up enjoying and I wouldn't even know about them, or play, if they weren't there. Of course there's titles that I try and quit too.
@mrbojangles25: I plan on subscribing to Uplay when they release gods & monster and AC Valhala.
I think it beats paying full price for these games.
I don't plan on staying subscribed. Just beat them and move on.
I don't understand this.
If you have an interest in playing the games, then why not pay the devs for their hard work rather then skimming and paying only a portion of what a game normally cost?
I mean if I like a game I buy it and support the devs so they can make another. And if say you only have a passing interest then why not wait until they are on sale?

1. Because it's cheaper that way. And in AC: Valhalla's case, that's not hard work. They just copy/paste the last game and put a viking skin on it.
2. They don't need Ragnarok's support of full price payment to make new games.
3. Waiting isn't fun. The "just beat them and move on part" also makes sense. These are Ubisoft games. Who the hell wants to replay those? There's also the fact that these games on sale still wont be as cheap as subscribing.
Pretty easy to understand, I'd say.
You know you got Fannyboyism bad when you use a service and it’s user numbers,or try to damage control, because gamepass is such a great feature
HaH
What I will say to anyone thinking about getting both next gen consoles gamepass and MS 15 studio games day one will go a hell of a way to paying for the XBSX by saving £200 alone on buying games like halo, forza, gears, fable, hellblade 2,outer worlds 2,fh5 and that’s without the other games from the studios over the generation

1) So you're saying that the entire world and everything in it will be the same as the last game but the main characters and other characters in the game will be in Viking clothing. There will be no new world, new characters, weapons, cities, animals etc, so they will just copy & paste, and not do any hard work, that's astounding observation, and by astounding I mean stupid. Also yeah why support devs of games you like to play, I mean not everyone is a PC pirate :(
2) Sure they need games to sell to make money, its how the world works, you should know this already.
3) if you only have a passing interest then waiting for them is not too hard for them to go on sale, also anyone with self control can wait for ever if need be.
Even easier to understand i'd say :)
@i_p_daily: I am buying the game, only I'm getting it through their subscription service.
It's another option they are offering. And it's easier and cheaper for me.
Of course they'd like for me to stay subscribed. I'm just not into that. And again, that's an option they are offering.
How and why would they lose money from an option they themselves are promoting?
He's a hardcore cow that's how its a negative, no shit he is a hardcore cow lol.
Obviously, but still fun to watch people try to rationalize a nonsense take.
10 million users? So that means they made 10 million dollars back for giving away a half billion dollars worth of games. Phil Spencer, you genius you. You may not make the Xbox division ANY money, but man you sure can burn some cash. That'll show ResetEra!

1. Sure, and you're saying subscribing to Uplay isn't supporting Ubisoft and the same as pirating.
2. If they didn't earn money by having a subscription service, they wouldn't have a subscription service.
3. Again, why wait if you don't need to wait? Waiting for it to go on sale (which can take a long time) in order to waste more money to play the game is logical in your opinion?
@BenjaminBanklin: Lol, this silly news is hurting you isnt it? You wouldn't happen to have a source for either of your equally silly claims would you?
You do know that it doesnt cost MS anything to get the games on GP? You do understand that devs get a share of GP income?
