Forza owned, Gran Turismo still biggest racing platform

Some people enjoy playing with feces, it doesn't mean playing with feces is subjectively fun.

I have had Grand Tourismo Sport since launch. I have not warmed up to it. I appreciate the graphics and detail but not the gameplay.

My go to racers have been Forza 7, Horizon 3 and 4, the Dirt and Dirt Rally Series. And Grid Autosport, all on PC of course.

For some reason, the GT seri has always bored me.

Nintendo doesn't release official VC sales figures, for whatever reasons. As far as official sales figures go, GT1 (PS1) outsold MK64 (N64) by 980,000 units.

I think he probably meant racing sims (or more specifically, console racing sims). Because there were a ton of arcade-style racing games on consoles long before GT.

If any company can be considered the "grandaddy of racing games", it's definitely Sega. They've been making arcade racing games since 1969.

I was a huge fan of GT1 and GT2.

But then I played Forza Motorsport on the original Xbox and there has been no going back. Gran Turismo might have sold more units but it has been basking in the shadow of Forza's quality ever since.

PCARS 2 is better than both GT and forza.

The last great GT game was GT4, GT5 was a massive disappointment though after the wait, so much so I never bothered with 6.

ACC and GTR3 are the 2 big games for this year, GT and forza can keep on arguing between themselves.

You don't play 3rd party games on ps4? Because I play them all on x1x, and they're the better versions. Doesnt matter to me that fh4 is rated higher on meta than gt. Doesnt get me moist....I just play it. Same with CD3. I wouldn't buy it at full price, but it's absolutely worth playing on Gamepass. Same with SoT .... it's a shame you HAVE to hate a game because it's on a "rival" console, because it's my go to game after some hectic shooting.

Good for you, you're in the minority though and that's why Xbox is struggling this gen and MS is shifting priorities away from Xbox consoles and moving to services. Exclusives sell consoles whether you want to believe it or not and that's why the XB1 is struggling compared to the PS4 and Switch, two consoles with numerous high scoring compelling exclusives.
