:lol.."sough" .....

Forbes believes that Steve Jobs will announce the App Store, a service to let iPhone and iPod Touch owners to download games and other software, at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2008 this Monday. They believe the App Store combined with the iPhones capabilities could be a Nintendo DS killer. The iPhone and the iPod Touch combine the touch-sensitive screen of a Nintendo DS with the motion sensitivity of the Nintendo Wii. Now add the ability to pour fresh games into the system at the touch of a button. Will this create a problem for Nintendo in handheld gaming? ..umm NO

Depends if they get developer support and software sales.

So far, they're getting one of them.

Not with out first party games. I would say no. Look at Nintendo best selling list. Most of them are Nintendo titles.

Since when were the iPhone ans iPod Touch motion sensing?

Mobile phone gaming is already pretty big, but it has not slowed the DS a bit. Its also funny how they left out the PSP. Does Forbes assume its not a contender?

I dunno exactly who would support Apple? As in who would develop for them?

If Apple released a handheld that accepeted physical media, that statement could very well become true.

Both the iPhone and iPod Touch have an accelerometer, meaning they can detect motion.

Sales wise, yea. It already beat it in quality. Also, DS suffers from a turd lineup.

it wont kill ds. People buy ds soley as a gaming device. Ipod or iphone will not threaten ds in any way. They are 2 completly different products that are going after different markets. It is probably a feature that will get overlooked by most iphone/ipod users.

Aint nothing touching the DS, Apple have missed the boat this gen IMO, Maybe next gen they might bring out some kind of I-Game, but good look competing against the DS and PSP Sucessor though, as i doubt anything Apple can R&D in time will have the functionality of the next Sony and Nintendo Consoles.

My opinion is it will be a financial black hole for anybody who enters the handheld market now, the PSP isnt doing as good as the DS but people forget how well the PSP has sold in comparison to the likes of the Sega Gamegear, Atari Lynx ect.

DS Will outsell the PS2 IMO and the PSP will probably Sell over 50m-60m easy.

Nintendo is the master of the hand held. They focus on price, length of battery, good design, durablitity, and most of all - games.

Apple is overpriced IMO, plus IPODS scratch so easy (not sure if they improved them), and they just know how to design things properly in this case. I never had a reason to associate games and Apple at all.

I'd be astonished if they made any ground in the handheld game market

The only company that can take a share from DS( no beat it though ) is nokia with ngage2 considering that it has way more resourses than apple and is by far the biggest mobile maker. Plus iphone is not even that great of a phone and i cant see how can you play games besides driving games without any buttons

Uh..and why are you so quick to pin that on Microsoft? Sounds like either a hardware issue, or an issue with the person at the keyboard.

I've been running Vista (both 32-bit and 64-bit) for nearly a year now -- never had any problems with it. My last BSOD (or other major system error) was actually with Windows 98 :|

Have you tried Leopard? Pelon208

Has nothing to do with my post, but yes (though not for any extended period of time.)

I'll take Windows and Linux over OS X any day: Windows for its vast software library and gaming. Linux for customization, utmost reliability/security, and the open-source software community.

Leopard looks nice, but it doesn't appeal to me in the least bit.

There is one really smooth-playing FPS on the iPhone right now, and that was done for free by some programmer. The controls were transparently implemented into the iPhone screen. Imagine when the professional devs get their hands on that thing. It's going to be insane.

well you can think what you want, I have no problems with opinions, but IMO PSP is way better. all DS has is Guitar hero in about 2-3 weeks.
