I just had my spring break last week, i am dissapoint. :PI'd say it met the hype, even though I'd thought it get an 8.5. Does that still count? :P
Looking forward to starting the game up this weekend. I'm lucky I have off for Spring Break all of next week!

*checks hype thread* AAA has one more vote than AA. Thus I shall call this a flop! FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPAce6301the poll was tied before today so thus its not a flop...
Don't get the ps3 version.johny300I have to... because Kevin's review for part one recommended the PS3 version over the 360, I played Origins on PS3. So now I have to get the crappiest looking version in order to keep all my choices from Origins and Awakening. Sucks to be me.
I agree with the score...its a great game, but it is not as good as Origins. A lot of the strategy that Origins required isn't really necessary in DA2. I think I've only had to pause the game a couple of times now and even that wasn't really needed. The story doesn't feel as epic as Origin's did either, despite the unoriginality of Origin's story.
That it's just business as usual, and plenty of console DA fans will enjoy the game despite PC gamers complaining about it. Don't like, don't buy it.No you seem to have a problem with PC gamers criticizing the game, criticism which turned out to be entirely accurate by the sounds of things. Apparently to you wanting a game to be of high quality is "a sense of entitlement", and vocal criticism leads to the developer making the criticism valid out of spite or some such ludicrous nonsense.[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]What is your point? That justified criticism is bad?

Why should the game benefit PC gamers? They've been the most vocal in criticizing the franchise.Bigboi500
[QUOTE="fueled-system"]the poll was tied before today so thus its not a flop... The poll was always AAA, I also say flop :POkay so the next time a game gets an AA when the hype was AA I will make sure to call that game a flop to...[QUOTE="Ace6301"]*checks hype thread* AAA has one more vote than AA. I really can't see how someone could play DA:O then play DA2 and feel as if the simplification of the certain aspects of the game didn't make it worse. Dragon Age 2 is a fun game, but its clearly a sequel that doesn't match up the same level as its predecessor.
A lot of the characters are pretty lame compared to the Origin ones as well.
Just watched the video review still seems worth getting. Not total trash as people seem to be making it out to be, still getting it

Imagine that! :o And I'm sure I'll enjoy the sequel on consoles as well.[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]

The very first line in the review is "Dragon Age II is an enjoyable and complex role playing game..." So all those saying the game is bad are quite wrong. I guess haters gotta hate.
Screw this game, they simplified the combat and inventory and focused more on story telling? Way to ruin a good game bioware.
I think ill go play a truly great RPG like the witcher that has an even more simplified combat system and inventory and even more focus on story telling.... oh wait....:o
But seriously, with all the witcher love that goes around this forum... you think people wouldnt immediately write off a game that changes its format to be more like the witcher. I think folks are just too eager to say "lulz consoles ruined it"
This isn't true. Bioware Mythic, and Bioware Austin are definitely going down though. I am going to predict that those 2 when dragon age 2 doesn't sell up to expectations (lol at 4.5 million overall. Lucky to get 2 million) and ToR flops. For its budget it should look alot better then it does.on top of this diaster, if ToR flops in subscriptions (which it looks like it will), bioware might really be done for.

I have never understod this, the witcher was a bore fest to me, I tried to play it many times, I am sure i will enjoy DA2 more then the witcher, if I dont then DA2 is total crap.

I never got too far in the witcher, and the bad voice acting kinda put me off. I was more trying to point out a glaring inconsistency. Im also expecting to like DA2 alot more than the witcher.
Here's the sequence of events following today:
- Despite DA:O being an incredible success on the PC; DA2 sells rather poorly given the changes made to the game
- Console owners eat up the newly designed DA2, and it sells double what the original sold on consoles
- Seeing the low sales on PC Bioware blames piracy while completely disregarding their previous multiplatinum sellers on the PC
- Bioware hands a nail to all PC gamers, and tells them to start hammering it into the PC's coffin
Nope. The poll was on AA when the review came through, but posters started clicking on AAA afterwards to make it look like a flop.[QUOTE="shinrabanshou"]
So flop then?

Those can't be actual in game screenshots... Unless it's on PC on low setting.[QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"]

 Thank you consoles.

It's all ingame and on Highest + DX 11. You can tell by looking at their background of other people.
It's not. The game does not look anywhere near that. The art style is pretty neat and the character facial models are detailed, even for generic no-name characters. There's no way Dragon Age 2 looks like that, not on the PC, at least.Nope. So it's a flop.
Since you're new here, I'll explain. AA means 8.0-8.5, AAA means 9.0-9.5. The consensus of System Wars was voted AA when the review came through, so the hype was met, and the game isn't a flop.Nope. The poll was on AA when the review came through, but posters started clicking on AAA afterwards to make it look like a flop. Do you have pictures for proof? Because it's at AAA right now and I think if anyone actually cared they would have voted. It's not like some guy a few weeks ago could have went "I know that this poll is going to be incredibly close so I won't vote now and when I do I'll make it a flop! bwhahahaha!" That's just silly.[QUOTE="shinrabanshou"]

[QUOTE="Lethalhazard"]Casuals are going to eat it up. My friend already bought the game and DLC, and hes saying its better than the original because "the combat is faster and its easer." So yeah. It'll sell more than the first and it'll probably increase trends towards this type of game (half-assed, DLC ridden, pre-order bonus x 20 games).LookAnDrolLFrom the looks of things, I can see that happening... A damn shame that some people have such a low standars
Its a shame people think Bioware is selling out.
I'm gonna laugh when DA2 sells a few million, then all the haters are still gonna hate even after the success of DA2.
