Nintendo has made a HUGE rebound from its last generation where it was seemingly fumble after fumble. With everything on the near horizon I didn't need a Direct to satiate my needs but it sure offered some nice additions and surprises.

Come on SolidGame, stop using that word "Can we agree/admit" is kinda of silly at this point but however, you are right. Nintendo Switch is the single best Nintendo's console they put out yet and only because they have incredible exclusive games to back them up.

Meanwhile like the PS4 the Switch's racing games are crap, so I care about sales as much as I care about that kids game Fortnite, which is zero :)

Wind Waker? Metroid Prime? Metroid Prime 2? Pikmin 2? Paper Mario: TTYD? F-Zero GX? SSX 3? Resident Evil 4? Viewtiful Joe? Eternal Darkness? TimeSplitters 2? Starfox Adventures? Helloooo.

Compare that to the Switch titles that are of similar quality:

Yep, Nintendo is most definitely rockin’ it these days. That was a very solid Direct yesterday. That Terry Bogard reveal trailer was amazing.

Coolyfett will acknowledge the "rocking it" status of Nintendo when\if the Switch passes Gameboy Advance in units sold. That is the benchmark for success. Past the Gameboy Advance and the Switch is CERTIFIED. Coolyfett is rooting for them.

I should have word it better on my end. The Switch is great for it's portability alone and I can play it at home anytime is what makes it a great machine for me alone. GC was also great, but at this time, I just prefer Switch as of now.

Software? Sure they have a good library overall.

They managed to get a lot of good smaller titles from PC.

History does not lie when it comes to this subject. Since Generation 3 one of 2 companies have been the leaders. Nine of the ten top systems of all time come from one of 2 companies. Thirteen of the top fifteen come from one of 2 companies. Its weird when gamers choose outside of those two companies exclusively.

I've hardly touched my XB1 X the last few months, it's been all Switch!

They've been making a lot of right moves of late, sure.

And the yet for the past year I have seen no reason to turn the device on. Not sure what all the hubbub is about.

For me, there is only ONE game owning a Switch for.

They've got a killer strategy going. More cross-buy and it would be the no-brainer PC companion.

This has to be the stupidest statement ever conceived. If not for the simple that it doesn't matter what the Switch's library is without indies, because guess what... those indies exist and are a part of the library.

Nintendo have been great this gen selling very well in all regions that can't go unnoticed.

My resolve's faded.

I bought a year of Nintendo Online for $20 ($17 with accrued tokens applied which I have no idea how I got) last night. Portable SNES greats pushed me over the edge. I'd much rather have owned these games like the VC, but if I can rent their legacy to take wherever I want for $20 annual it's peanuts, and the initial SNES selection is good. There's a few notables missing but they've some time (looking for Super Punch Out, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy). It's also decent emulation, with save states and a rewind feature which are handy. NES titles are a cherry on top.

I still fail to see the appeal of the Switch, but those sales numbers are impressive and speak for themselves. It is a major comeback from the abysmal WiiU, but man am I tired of Nintendo hardware-wise. How I still wish their next console would just be a regular powerful console without portability, oversized gamepads and what else they throw at us. Ain't gonna happen, I know.

I tried it last night but got my butt handed to me in the first round. :D I love Tetris, but am not the best player at it.

Yes. I've been playing mine a lot recently. I can't wait for the new Zelda and Metroid games. It would be nice to see more underrepresented titles come up like F zero, Another Code, Advanced Wars, Golden Sun and Custom robo.

Why have 3 clones of the same system? You already have Xbone and Ps4 for that. Sounds ridiculously boring to have 3 clone systems. I love that at least Nintendo keeps things interesting.

LOL dude yes it is a handheld, but if the Switch has outsold the Xbox One, then Xbox has to own that.

@mojito1988: Really, Sony and Microsoft could join forces and release a single console (not gonna happen of course). The reason I own a PS4 is for exclusives only. If those exclusives were available on xbox one x I would only own an xbox.

I agree with you that Nintendo offers an interesting alternative to PS4/xbox, but if you are not into handheld gaming (like me) and would only use the Switch in docked-mode, the Switch is an underpowered, pricey console. Maybe Nintendo could release a cheaper docked-only version of the Switch and I would likely buy it to play its exclusives.

They are doing a lot right (not everything if you look at stuff like Online or the build quality of the Switch and JoyCons). They seem to be on a roll :)
