I can see this as good for him. Aside from the tax cuts, Trumps main successes have been regulatory rollback and judicial nominations. Retaining the senate means he will be able to keep that up. Trump repeatedly threw Paul Ryan under the bus for his indecisive leadership, now he can just do the same thing with Pelosi.

The biggest losers tonight I think are wall enthusiasts. There is now effectively 0% of a wall. Fortunately, dems are starting to see that open borders is a losing battle, so there is going to be some kind of deal on immigration.

Republicans will now have to deal with Democrats on all legislation involving funding and spending because the house controls the purse strings. Also, they inherit an investigative advantage Republicans have had but Democrats never have:
