What Game has the best Water effects?

Yes... for a Ps3 game, I'd say Uncharted.

well guys, i'm bored so i decided to make this "interesting" thread. anyways I think Uncharted, GTAIV, and The Orange Box has amazing water effects, how about you guys? let's hear some opinions.magikmark84

lol funny, as I read your topic title (prior to clicking it), I thought of those 3 games for the ones I would say have the best water effects. Then I open up, and see you have the same idea.

I agree with all 3 of your choices, each has their own unique, and very realistic looking water.

Check Farcry2 video out sometime, as of now I think they have the best water shader implemented.

He's referring to how the boats actually create wakes in the water, or when you crash a car in the water it responds accordingly with waves being created, unlike old GTA's where the water was merely a layer of graphics that you just sit on top of and did not manipulate at all.

I know, but that's not physics. Water phyics is when you dip a cup into water the water can be seen moving into the cup. or when you fall into water from high place you can see water changing shape realistically and that there is a real impact when the body contacted at high speed instead giant pillow surface that does nothing.

theres fish in the water in uncharted. um i think gta did a decent job though, surprisingly.

yeah bioshock has great water effects- thats like the whole game dude

That's preprogrammed response. Like when you punch the window in GTA the game simply add a texture to the surface of the glass, and 2 secound after you leave the scence the crack disappears. This is like a comparison of ragdoll animations to the previous fixed death animations in FPS games. One looks realistic, while the other one is not.

He is correct... there are no water physics... just some preprogrammed things.

Uncharted hands down, uncharted i think has the best graphics out of any video game out right now, as soon after you swim you can even see the clothes dripping & wet , its too realistic lol :)realistic44

I have to agree. Uncharted is the only game that I have that has used the water effects very well.

I'd have to say Uncharted and Halo 3 both have excellent water effects for various reasons.

Yeah the water effects in Bioshock are awesome. The water in Super Mario Sunshine is great too.

Actually I was quite unimpressed by the water effects in Uncharted. Maybe there's something wrong with my eyes but I'd actually choose Oblivion over Uncharted! Half Life 2's water is the best one, in my opinion.

Oblivion eh, its rather quite boring to me, but it does have some decent graphics, iunno it just something bout uncharted graphics that got me hooked :P, Yeah HL2 is pretty good, maybe we can get some battles in, my psn is Realistic3.

now all i can say is this game has to have the best water physics around once it comes out, the whole game is best around and in the water. so if this doesnt have good water physics then there aint gonna be much point in the game.

uncharted for me has the best water in game.
