infamous highly overrated?

Well even I am a sony fanboy but come on Infamous is not that great.

I mean graphics dont match upto sony exclusives like Killzone 2 or resistance 2 or MGS4 or uncharted

only attractive thing is the gameplay and freedom which in my opinion gets repetitive after sometime.

1UP said on their latest ListenUP Podcast that the game is very glitchy with odd NPC behavior, bad in-game cutscenes, etc. I agree with them from the demo.

But, they liked the game and thought it was still fun enough to give an A-! And they said reviewers wouldn't be being so easy on it if it weren't so much fun to play.

And from the demo, it's definitely fun to play.

I don't know really. I'm just tired of reviewers looking over flaws in more hyped titles, then absolutely coming down on them in less hyped titles. It shows a true flaw in the reviewing system.

Every game being made has the capacity to be fun but not every game has the capacity to be on the cutting edge of graphics, otherwise every PS2 game would be getting low scores and obviously thats not right.

graphics don't equal fun.. not too mention there isn't a game on the ps3 that has so bad of graphics that the game can't be tolerated.. seriously graphics are a non issue this generation, people need to stop bringing them up in a debate whether a game is good or not..

it's a demo, really just wait for the full game before passing a judgement..

Oh, I definitely agree with you. I just find that to be the case with other games, too, yet reviewers seem to be quite harsh on them. Reviews always seem a bit inconsistent, so I usually just buy a game if it interests me.

And to the person that said Wolverine looks better... really? I thought Wolverine was quite ugly, but inFAMOUS looks pretty good, especially considering it's a sandbox game. Oh well, to each his own.

I don't know if it's me only, but I don't like how the characters run in the game, specialy Cole. He is moving like chimp. It gives the game "Cheap" look. I think they've could done a better job. Just make it look a bit pretier. I didn't play much of the game yet, so can't give final judgment, but that's my fist impression.

Why do people always give graphics more weight than gameplay? I played the demo(3 times over actually) and I thought it was really fun. Visuals aren't over the top or anything, but they're good enough. The superpowers are diverse, the open world is interesting to make use of, and reminds me a lot about jak 2 + 3. I think this is going to be an awesome game, and I don't even know that much about the story yet.

If you're basing all this on the demo, then you should consider playing the real thing when it comes out. What inFamous lacks in graphics, it makes up for in gameplay.

And i agree with others, graphics are only remembered until a game with better graphics comes out....

Also, just to let u know the graphics are supposed to be like that its a game that is like half animation and half serious graphics...

You're calling the game "average" just because of graphics? That's the lamest thing I've ever heard. To myself and many others, games aren't about graphics, though they are a nice bonus. Games are about great music, great gameplay, and most importantly, a great story. If you're just playing for graphics, you should sell your systems and just PC game, because these machines won't stand up to a top of the line PC. InFamous has really good gameplay and, from what I hear, a pretty decent story. I'm really looking forward to this game, as the demo was a decent play.

infamous is an awesome game. the game hasn't got graphics like killzone 2 or uncharted but it has great gameplay andstory witch make the game deserve it's score

What do you expect? This is an open-world game. It would take ages to get the graphics as good as Resistance 2 or Uncharted all over New York.

Plus the gameplay takes my mind off the occassional glitches I had, and I haven't even played the full game yet, so . . .

Bad graphics, really?

For an open gameplay game such as Infamous, the visuals are crisp with great textures, something even GTA4 should learn from. Like any open sandbox game, you either like it or not.

That doesn't make the game bad, it's only a opinion of individual.
