Well, I think I have an addiction to buying new games. Here's my argument...

Since I received a PS3 in early janruary I have bought:

-Modern Warfare 2

-Bioshock 2

-God of War 3

-Little Big Planet

-Uncharted 1

-Unchartd 2

-Rockband 2 (complete set)

-Borderlands

-Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time

-Fallout 3: GOTY

-Skate 3

-Madden 10

-Warhawk

-Red Dead Redemption

...all for PS3. 14 games in 7 months. Yes, that IS 1 game every 2 weeks. Who else thnks I have a problem?

Not really, but rather high i'd say. I barely buy one every 2 months infact the last game i bought was Demon's Souls a week ago and before that AvP. And before that NFS:Shift... im poor so i have an excuse lol.

As long as you can afford it, it isnt a big deal. I got my ps3 in december and now have 26 games, which I see as ok since we started late and need to catchup on all the good games that came out before we bought a ps3.

Dude, I have so many games that I constantly buy and have not even played yet. I have a problem. Sometimes being able to afford things has its drawbacks. I'm desperately trying to prevent myself from buying more since GoHastings has a B2G1 for a buck promotion right now.

I got my PS3 roughly a month ago and I bought 6 games before buying and 6 with it. (Two came with it, one was bundled with a controller.)

Since then I have gotten BioShock 2 and Just Cause 2.

you havent had a ps3 for very long, so it just seems like you luving it which has caused a semi buying games addiction as I bet a lot of those games you still havent finished yet, I had the same problem, but it's slowed right down now to the point where I buy a new game maybe once a month and a psn game every so often. That is a great ist of games you have there though :)

That's actually not bad. You just bought your PS3 so it would be natural for you to want to buy a lot of games for it.

I feel the same sometimes. This year alone i bought 9 games. I always tell myself im 15 and my parents have a shop so of course i get money and of course if i ever want a game i would save up for it. People call me rich, but im not.Being a sophmore in highschool its rare you get a job....Instead of spending money on speed boats and RV's :P I buy video games.Hey im asian its in my blood. :D But i always tell myself when i grow up and i have bills and a wife.Pay bills first and buy food and anything i need. And what ever is last goes towards games . But i plan on being a concept artist for SCEA. So games 4 Life ! FTW :D

PSN:General-Sor I play Killzone 2 alot and Bioshock 2.Add me--Im in need of friends :/ Lol just kidding, add me if you feel like it :D

I'd say I have a problem with buying too many, but I'd attribute that more to the fact that I'm buying games for 5 systems, many of which I've been getting upon release. In the last 12 months I've bought 40-50 games.

More like $800 - $1,000. I collect for the PS3, 360, Wii, PSP & DS. Most games on the handhelds aren't that expensive.

I don't think I'm aware of that many good games to keep that up or I'd be able to even play those.

It's normal when you've well paid job but try to apply some restraint. This happened to me as well. A pen and a piece of paper can help.

  • List down all your game
  • rate them
  • write down their genre and developer

You will see pattern on your buying habit, least/most favorite genre, some well hyped game but you don't like it, rare games with low review rate but you like it and their developer. With these information, you will think twice and can spot easily which games most likely you won't enjoy.

If you want to take it to next stage, list down all going to be released games (GameSpot list is quite good) which interest you within next 3 months then write off which games most likely you won't enjoy based on information above. You will get game buying priority list this way.

To save even more money or extreme way then don't buy newly released game. Buy them few months later, a year later, GOTY version or when you get a good deal. I'm at this point right now. It's been 4 months since I bought RoF, I skip RDR and Trinity Universe. Beware though, watch out for games that printed in low quantity based on its developer and publisher.

Last, surf for news regularly to update your list and game habit preference.

Generally speaking, I buy on average, a game per month. The thing is...I'm getting smart and waiting for sales. No reason to spend full price on a game when you can get it 30% off a 8 weeks later. This is especially true if you have a large backlog of games to play like me.

It doesn't sound like you have a severe buying problem. I bought a ton of games last year and then slowed down now that I have a diverse enough library that I always feel like I've got something to play.

Otherwise, I buy a new game every couple of months. I think the last game I bought new was Mass Effect 2 before I bought Red Dead Redemption this month.

I was just gonna say "you should see some of the horders on this site!" :) TC, at least it sounds like you actually finish a game before you get another. I do too, so I tell myself I'm fine. :)

Ah, well, it seems like I dont have it too bad!

And various people have said that its prolly due to the fact that I'm late in the ps3 market, and thats definitey part of it. I Had so many games I wanted by the time I actually got the PS3 that they just stack up!

And, yeah, I think that the difference from me and a lot of people is that I actually finish every game before I let myself continue to a new one. I bought Red Dead Redemption about 3 weeks ago, and I'm still in the process of finishing it. Thereore, I have yet to buy a new game.

I also have a lot of games I barely played. Having many games unfinished isnt really good as I cant decide which to play. I cant stay at one game at the time so i switch between them and so I dont fully enjoy either of them :(

I don't know about you having a problem... it's not like we're talking about drugs here :P As long as you're happy with your purchases and those purchases don;t place a significant strain on your budget, then more power to you. As for me, I have 28 games in my collection, and I owned my PS3 for about 3 years. So you can say that I average about 9 game purchases a year. However, i can see that number dropping significantly within the next year.

I use to but not any more. In the first 3 months of just purchasing a PS3.. I had over 20 games.. and you could imagine a huge backlog. Since then, I've played and finished a few, and ended up selling most of them.. Now, I'm buying and playing each game one at a time.

I've bought 19 games in the 13 months I've had my PS3, so you're not all that bad:) Most of the stuff I buy is older - the good stuff that came out before I got a PS3, and now pretty cheap.

I've got the same problem, if you want to call it a problem. Bought my ps3 in may and have almost as many games as you, plus a plethora of downloaded games. I buy primarily used, so it's not expensive at all. For instance, just got Red Faction Guerrilla for $12.

Hey, buying games is better than blowing that money to go to a fancy restaurant for one night or something. I just spent over $100 in 2 days at comic-con and I was a local that was able to drive, park, and eat for free. Imagine all the people that had to pay for transportation and lodging just to attend.

I buy games all the time I couldn't say how much I buy a week. I've had my PS3 since December 2008 and so far I've got about 114 games some thing around that but I still buy games for the PSP as well and sometimes but rarely for the Wii and DS.

I'd thought I'd list the games I've bought since January 2010 on the PS3 since a few others have been doing it

  • God of War Collection
  • Hail to the Chimp
  • Saw
  • Bayonetta
  • The Saboteur
  • Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
  • Genji: Days of the Blade
  • Virtua Fighter 5
  • Army of Two
  • Army of Two: The 40th Day
  • Valkyria Chronicles
  • Wheelman
  • Wanted: Weapons of Fate
  • Yakuza 3
  • Heavy Rain
  • Prince of Persia
  • Fight Night Round 4
  • Brain Challenge
  • Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
  • Overlord: Rising Hell
  • Overlord 2
  • Way of the Samuari 3
  • Super Street Fighter IV
  • Beijing 2008
  • Ghostbusters
  • Assassin's Creed 2
  • Batman Arkham Asylum
  • Modnation Racers
  • DJ Hero
  • Need for Speed Shift
  • Def Jam Icon
  • Bourne Conspiracy
  • Afro Samuari
  • Modern Warfare 2
  • Just Cause 2
  • Split/Second
  • Dead to Rights: Retribution
  • Blur
  • Colin Mcrae: Dirt
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine
  • Fallout 3
  • Dark Void
  • Toy Story 3
  • Alpha Protocol

Which is about 44 games most of them I've barely played but I'll get round to them eventually.

PSN Downloads since January 2010

  • TV Show King
  • Flower
  • Supersonic Rocket Powered Battle Cars

I certainly have one at some level. I don't buy games at full price, but If there's a game I'm remotely interested in playing that I find on sale, I have a hard time not buying it, regardless of whether I have time to play it. I've got about 7 games sitting here still in their wrapping that I haven't even touched. I haven't done that at all until this generation.

I bought 6 games the other day, the only release day ive bought on my 360 is Batman: Arkham Asylum (which was great, but no idea why i was so hyped for it 0_o), and 2 of these games were origional xbox games.

I got:

Shadowrun: £3

Far Cry 2: £5

The Bourne Conspiracy: £4

The Darkness: £3

XIII: £1.50 (origional xbox game)

The Thing: £1.50 (origional xbox game)

All of them for £18!

Pounds not dollars, i dont think its really worth me converting it. I normally buy 1 and sometimes 2 price dropped games a month. I love how i got all these games for the same price i got bioshock 2 for!

Yes you have a problem, your brain is small and weak and you cannot say no to outside influences. Basically you are under mind control, literally.
