What are your favorite headphones?

So when you look for a pair of headphones, what are the things you look for the most? E.g I look for comfortable fit and best sound quality. You should revise your choice. In the same price range something like the Shure SE315K comes to mind for fit and performance. Preference on the type of sound may also change your definition of "best"

Example: The Shure SE315Ks will have more impact and overall presence in the bass notes than the HiFiMAN RE262s, but the HiFiMANs will have a larger sound stage and more neutral sound signature.

Sennheiser, from my experience, have the best quality for the price. They don't really produce any bad models. They're 25 dollar iems are compared to 100 dollar Shures.Heirren

As for best quality for the price, well that's also debatable.

Grado SR80i or anything made by Grado. You can mod them to death(seriously the mods you can do are great) the mids and highs sparkle. And the bass is tight and punchy but not very prominent. I do have Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10's even thought they are $300 more the bass is very prominent. I will have to test the Grados and UE's side by side though as I do not have the UE's atm.

The only pair of quality headphones I've owned are the AKG K240 MKII's and I'm loving them. I like the look of the K550 and it seems to have pretty good feedback, so I might give them a try next :D

Sennheiser, Creative, and Plantronics all have behind-the-neck headsets, though I cannot vouch for or against any of them. If you're looking for something with higher quality audio, start with the Sennheisers. Happy gaming, BozBozanimal

With Dr Dre, they look good but any decent headphones destroy them

AD700 but thats using heavy EQ with the HW equalizer the kx audio drivers provide for an aging but still good Audigy 2ZS gives them some much needed bass boost without degrading the overall sound.

I have Klipsch S4i, Klipsch Image One cans, and just ordered and received the SMS Audio Street by 50 earbuds and I love them all. Believe it or not, the S4i is bassier than the Street by 50 but the SMS has better mids and highs. The problem is that the SMS needed a long burn in period (I left my Macbook on with iTunes at 90% volume to break in the SMS drivers) but after that, they sound great.

Oh, and about Beats. They're made by Monster Cable. That should tell you all you need to know about them.

My ATH-M50's are the best I have. They replaced a pair of JVC HARX 900's.

Also have a cheap pair of MEE M9 iem's.

For just listening to music at home, I would have to say my favorite are the Sennheiser HD380's. For listening to music outside (well essentially iem's, dont want to lug a headphone around) I would have to say the Monster Turbine Pro Copper's, they are fairly comfy, and have great sound quality.

On another note, to the TC, those beats are neither comfy, nor do they sound particularly good for that price, there are far better ones both in terms of comfort, sound quality, and price, such as the Shure315's, the Klipsch S4's, and the Sennheiser CX880. Frankly, the Tours may look good, but they have a poor build quality, and sound average. You should consider trying other earphones out, rather than believing the hype and marketing.

My favorites are the pair of Sennheisers HD 280 professional headphones I own. I intend to buy a pair of Audio Technica and Shure brand headphones to compare the quality of the three. Although reviews are helpful when looking to make a purchase of any merchanise, there are times when I prefer personal experience to make a final judgement on whatever it is that I buy. My senheiser 429 are good value for money and very comfy, a bit of EQ on the bass works wonders though.

Sennheiser 333Ds, by far. I also like my Steelseries 5H v2s, and am considering upgrading to Steelseries Siberia v2s.

I actually do not know how to choose headphones and I just buy whatever is recommended in the headphones shop in Next Pay. And most of the time, it turns out that they are not really good or not as good as I expected. Thanks for this post and now I have learned the considerations I need in choosing headphones.

I recently bought the JVC Bi-Metal FX300 and I am totally in love with them, what an awesome product. Out of the box sound quality was very harsh but it's getting so smooth with time now and the detail is simply mind blowing for the price I paid for it. Totally addicted to this sound signature now.

Never truly had a pair of "real" (quality) headphones, so i can't say really. But for now i have the sennheiser cx 300 ii. The right ear stopped working a few days back so i ordered a pair of soundmagic e10's, apparently they're amazing for the price. For around christmas i plan on getting mid-tier headphones, either the He-400 w/ fiio e17, or possibly the sennheiser momentum (obviously the he-400's are better, but a nice closed pair of headphones would be nice too)kris9031998

I think that they destroy the Solos and Studio Beats, but the Pro version is slightly better.  Of course, once you get into low to mid-end audiophile range (m50, dt770, etc), Beats are exposed for the glorified necklaces that they really are.
