If your PC was a girl, I'd ask her to marry me right then and there.I made a few minor changes. I wasn't going to post, but in honor of the new thread here it is...

Just a question about monitors.
Is the refresh rate (Hz) same as response time?
Cyberdot
They are not the same.
The refresh rate is the number of times in a second that a display hardware draws the data. (examples: 60Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz)
Response time is the time a system or functional unit takes to react to a given input.
Factor in "ghosting" as well. Observe using something like PRAD.

Oh ok.
It's just tough to see the refresh rate on a range of monitors on their official websites. Don't know why they hide that information.

If they don't state refresh rate then they'll be 60hz[QUOTE="Elann2008"]

This might be a lot to digest all at once but it's a good read. Very informative. Cheers mate.[QUOTE="mitu123"]
But I didn't mention TV though, I read up on it about monitors and I lol'd. I saw a difference like 2 seconds in.
And I got mine on amazon.

When people claim 120hz is a marketing gimmick, 99% of the time they're talking about TVs and not monitors. Anyone talking about 120hz monitors are plebs who've never seen one in person.
Ah ok, I see what you mean now.[QUOTE="Jennifer622"]Yeah, HAF cases you gotta be tidy with them.Oakley SunglassesFaustArpWe need a mod here, and I for one nominate mitu since he has a 120 Hz 1440p display. He may not get rid of the spambots, and hell, he may be a horrible moderator...but goddammit he can play his PC games in 1440p @ 120 fps. Funny as hell.:P
Gamespot are currently trying to sort out a moderator for this board.
Not sure how long it will take though.
I don't know anything about that. What I will say, though, is to just report anything like that. If a few people report it, it jumps to the top of the moderation queue which means a moderator will get to it quickly.Gamespot are currently trying to sort out a moderator for this board.

Painting the grills is as close as I come to "custom mods"
I KNOW I KNOW!!! I just think the LED's are so puuuuuurrrrty... kinda like your mouth boy. lol It's my first PC, give me a break!
Grills look good. Looks like you need to adjust the overscan setting on your TV, so the picture fills the whole display.C_Rule
Tell me how and I'll be grateful! I tried a few things but when I get it right, it screws up my res in games.
edit:
HAHAHAH I fixed it! SO simple. I'm a noob hahahah

Hmm, I think it looks better without the paint.
Cyberdot
Nah, definately better in red!
Gotta make your case a little different to everyone else with the same model right?
or just hide them in spoiler tags.People really need to learn how to remove IMG tags when quoting.

Call me naive... Just wanted to showcase my new PC. I'm relatively new to the building side of PC's. Have been predominantly a console gamer but am now a convert one could say. Can't say I'm disappointed at the least. There were certain games that just made me nauseous on the PS3. EG. Skyrim, Fallout 3, Battlefield 3, Rage etc...Not to mention the vast visual improvement .Eye candy... Anyway, the idea was to get multiple GPU's somewhere in the near future. In the meantime, because I have never overclocked, I'd like to know if I could get some advice as to what this PC is capable of when it comes to overclocking ability.[QUOTE="kraken2109"][QUOTE="JackalJnr23"] Intel Core i7 3930K | ASRock X79 Extreme 11 Motherboard | EVGA GeForce GTX 680 4GB FTW+ with Backplate | Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M2A2133C10 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 | Corsair AX1200 Gold Power Supply | Western Digital WD Blue WD10JPVT 1TB | Corsair Hydro Series H80i CPU Cooler | LG BH16NS40 16X BD-R Blu-ray Writer OEM | Thermaltake Armor Revo Black Full Tower Case | 24' HP 2511 Series Wide 1080P LCD Monitor | Samsung 55' UA55ES8000M LED LCD 1080P TV JackalJnr23

Well, I can certainly say that that was quite the leap. If you plan on getting a multi-GPU setup in the future and plan on overclocking that CPU, then I would say that the 1200W is justified. However, even 1000 would have done the job nicely. :P I suppose it'll last you a while hahaha[QUOTE="kraken2109"][QUOTE="JackalJnr23"] Intel Core i7 3930K | ASRock X79 Extreme 11 Motherboard | EVGA GeForce GTX 680 4GB FTW+ with Backplate | Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M2A2133C10 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 | Corsair AX1200 Gold Power Supply | Western Digital WD Blue WD10JPVT 1TB | Corsair Hydro Series H80i CPU Cooler | LG BH16NS40 16X BD-R Blu-ray Writer OEM | Thermaltake Armor Revo Black Full Tower Case | 24' HP 2511 Series Wide 1080P LCD Monitor | Samsung 55' UA55ES8000M LED LCD 1080P TV JackalJnr23

The 3930k should OC fantastically.
For the 680, will depend a lot on the model and factory OC.

You never want to utilize more than 80% of the power supply. To be safe 2 GPU's should run 1600 watt power supply and 3 GPU's I would run atleast 2000 watt's and you would see a difference in performance with the same hardware. You really don't want the power supply to run warm otherwise it's being pushed too much. One of the main things I hear are people talking about stuttering and crashing and that's because of the lack in power. RimacBugattiPlease stop posting.
