Mine is 9 years old it's still holding up alright I'm just getting by on my 970gtx these days I mostly just replay old games though. I take pretty good care of it but it's aging out pretty quickly I really have no desire to upgrade anytime soon since I barely give a shit about gaming these days.

Some parts are 10+ years old, some are less than a year old. My case and some of my older SSD's are pretty damn old, but I just got a new video card <6 months ago. Fans, surprisingly, hold up pretty well too!

I wouldn't say I am constantly upgrading, but if there is a part that is slowing me down or acting as a bottleneck, I try to replace it.

Keeping a PC up to date is interesting and it took me a long time to realize it's always and never a good time to get a PC or upgrade it haha.

My PC is constantly evolving and has no real age. I recently upgraded from...

Z390 Gigabyte Aorus Pro/Intel i9 9900K/16GB DDR4 3600

to

X570 Asus TUF Pro/AMD R9 5950X/32GB DDR4 3600

I am still using the same case (which I also used with a 7700K build), PSU, AIO cooler, SSDs and RTX 3080.

My PC is only a year and three months old, but it ain't exactly high end. I think your 970 is more powerful than my 1650. I mostly buy old games cheap, so it gets the job done. The i5 10400 and 32 gigs of ram should last me a while though, and when I finally catch up to modern stuff the 4050 or 5050 should be out.

"how old is your PC? Mine is old and I don't give a shit about gaming" Best post ever!

Built mine in 2014, rocking dual 970s YESSSSSSSSSS FEAR ME. It plays most games fine at 1080p, but finally hit a brick wall with Guardians of the Galaxy (there's always that one game). Might buy a pre-built sometime this year.

My Pc has a slew of parts that range from 7 months (RTX 3080ti) to nearly 12 years old (HAF 932 case). But what makes it go is all recent parts 5900x, RTX 3080ti

The oldest part of my PC is the 850 Pro SSD, it must be 7 or 8 years old. The case is a few years younger. CPU MB and RAM are 5 years old, and the new system SSD, PSU and GPU are all new. Oh and the Noctuas are quite old, prolly gonna outlive me!

Oldest part in my PC is the 500GB WD Black - 12 years old, give or take.

If you were to base the age of the computer on the CPU/MB/RAM/GPU, then the average age of my system is about 6 months old.

My PC is around 3 years old. Well, at least the base specs are three years old. It's an i7 8700 with 16GB.

I upgraded the GTX1070 to a RTX 2080 in late 2019, added another 2TB SSD and replaced a six year old 2TB HDD for a new 4TB HDD.

I think the final upgrade on this machine may be a RTX 3070. After that I think I'm going to gut it with a new AMD Ryzen based system. Won't be until later this year or early next though now.

The oldest PC I've ever owned was built in 2007 and finally 'decommissioned' end of 2013. That's quite some going for me. Money was an issue and I was more of a console gamer back then.

Overall 5 years old.

I have a 1500X, 16GB of ram and a Vega 64. I originally had a 4GB RX 580 (bought during the last crypto boom so a bit of an ouch) but upgraded to a Vega 64 in 2019 for peanuts. I swapped out my old power supply also in 2019 (the old one was over 10 years old and i was not confident it would be able to deal with a Higher end GPU.).

Specs wise it's still very much a 2017 PC. I am looking to upgrade it but I'm in no major rush. Things are getting better on the GPU front prices wise but it's sill pretty crap. Maybe by June/July I will take the plunge (though new GPUs are also on the way too...continue to play the waiting game? hmm.).

Several parts of the structure date back more than a decade, while others are less than a year old. I just purchased a new motherboard for Ryzen 5 with a compatible case, and some of my older SSDs are old. Interestingly, fan performance is quite good! https://demotherboards.com

I was a long time to realize getting a PC or upgrading it is not a good time no matter what time of year it is

Got a brand new gaming rig on August 2021, the only part I did reuse is the CPU cooler.

Went from GTX970, i5 4690 and 16Gb of RAM to RX6600XT, i5 11600K and 16Gb RAM which I've upgraded yesterday to 32Gb.

The old system ran games just fine from medium to ultra - depends on the game (60fps 1080p) but I've jumped on upgrading the whole system since I've found a decent GPU in a good price, was aiming to get 3060Ti after few months for it to drop it's price to be fair but then the GPU shortages began and prices spiked.

Well, we all have that point where we have other priorities than gaming and if you just replay old games or try older games you haven't played you should be fine for a couple of years - I've got a list of games I need to replay and finish which should get me busy for at least a year.

Newest part is about year and a half I believe. CPU isn't that much older, maybe two years? Some of the water cooling components are way older though.

A mixture between 7-8 years old to roughly 5-6 years. My sig is a little outdated.

I can play current gen games just fine for the most part. I really do need an upgrade but since current gen is stagnated from covid, I don't see a reason to upgrade. Most of these newer games look like last gen games.

I bought a NewEgg ABS prebuild in 2020 for about $700 after taxes and I missed the whole "PC parts are jacked up for various reasons" thing that happened in 2021. Anyway here are it's specs.

Ryzen 5 3600
16GB DDR4 Ram 3000 (upgraded from the 8GB the machine came with)
GTX 1650 Super 4GB

It's pretty good for 1080p gaming, you just have watch your VRAM usage.

I'm still rockin an i5-2500k that I bought 10 years ago along with a GTX 1070 that was gifted to me.

Just yesterday though I was finally able to upgrade to the 7600x/Asus Tuf mobo/32GB Corsair DDR5-5600 that should arrive tomorrow!

However, my 2500k still has some Game in it. I'll probably turn it into a HTPC build or something...

Oh - and my Enermax 485watt PSU is 15 years old and still working Marvelous! I really hope it works on my New hardware too!!!

The case is 2014

The bulk of it was 2018 which replaced the older setup from 2009.

The new 5 ARGB fans and graphic card holder as well as the new ARGB processor coller are from 2022.

The 5 backup hard drives are unknown and could be anywhere from 2009 onwards to present day. I've upgraded quite a few times from the very small drives to the bigger ones over time with the 6TB being the biggest one. The case allows me to have up to 9 inside from the 3 SSD and the 8HDD, but the new(ish) motherboard which replaced the old one can only have 6 connected unlike the last one which was 8. I'm [pretty sure my first HDD is gone which would have been from 2009.

I do need a new case though, it's still holding strong, but the front where my USB slots are loose. However, newer cases from today don't seem to have that front CD drive slot unlike the older models.

What you need CD-drive for?

Unsure if the PSU or case is the oldest part in my computer. GPU from 2020, CPU/MOBO/RAM recently upgraded.

I am quite sure the aquacomputer part I have will be the oldest in time though. If it isn't already. I kinda forget that it exist. Years ago I bought aquaero 5 (I think), and connected it to my PC, used the software to set it up as I like. After that I disconnected the USB connection to the PC, but it still control fan speed over the radiator. If I change radiator I need to download the software again and configure it again I guess.

shit i don't even know. case and at least 1 hdd is from 2007, ram/psu is probably the same. mb/cpu were probably last replaced in 2010, gpu / boot ssd maybe a year or two later. hardly ever even turned on these days as i don't have much gaming time and if i do i'm playing switch with my kids. work laptop is used during the day and have another 3 year old laptop that's used for personal stuff.

on the todo list to do a full new system build one of these days...

honestly the effort of getting it powered up, making sure I have everything off all the drives that I want to keep backed up, taking it apart, finding the right places that'll do electronics recycling, and dealing with the disposal is too much time / effort for me these days.

so it sits under my desk and collects dust :)

There is no requirement in US for shops that sell PCs to also take in and dispose of old PCs?
