Diablo 3 level cap increased to 160 and other massive changes

Introducing the new Paragon System

After you hit level 60, any further experience you earn from killing monsters will begin to count toward Paragon levels
There are 100 Paragon levels
Every Paragon level will reward you with core stats such as Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality in amounts similar to what youd gain from a normal level
3% Magic Find and 3% Gold Find

Legendary Item improvements - increased stats, give monster affixes and abilities to the player, summon angels or slave demons

General Systems changes - tweaks to coop modifiers, monster stats, repair costs, removal of enrage timers and regeneration of packs and no more invulnerable minions

Barbarian, DH, Monk, WD and Wizard changes - unpopular stuff is buffed and more

While many of these modifications benefit from collected player data, the item buffs and post-60 carrots on a stick are something that should have made it into the game at launch.

What's stopping you from making another character when this patch goes live?

Remember, it took Diablo 2 the LoD expansion before it was really great and it took World of Warcraft the Burning Crusade expansion before that was fantastic, and Starcraft 2 had a few months of issues before that was really praised by the community.

Blizzard games take awhile to mature. You don't play a Blizzard game for a few weeks after launch, you play them for years after launch. That's just how they are.

That's how Diablo games are. The difference being in Diablo 2 you could keep running the same zones over and over easily. The removal of the lobby system really hurt that.

I remember doing Baal runs for dozens of hours to level up characters and grind out loot.

I honestly don't understand why there are so few unique maps and events. They have fifty trillion employees and it's an isometric game. How hard is it to set up a cabal and deliver dungeons and Jar of Souls style events?

Looks good, all they need to do is make it have more replability later on.

Weither that means some new dungeons, random events or missions or what ever, that was my biggest issue with the game. The first 30-40 hour I had a blast with friends on D3 but after that I got bored stiff, aint played it in months.

I will def try D3 again when the updates hit. Hope they do an expansion to like D2 had, that really added to D2's shelf life for me.

Think inferno killed it for many fans including myself..Was fun at the start..Running with some people i met from kozzy an such good guys..How ever i quickly got bored of the game myself..Man i played for five months not on legendary lol even though they sucked i heard...My bro had two drop..Diablo 2 had more legen drop rates i think..I know that legends are suppose to be rare an all but cmon..Was half into my second character an still no drop lol..Although i have some very good rares..Well torchlight 2 will be out next month hopefully as well an that will hold me over for awhile..

Then Diablo is not for you, as that is what Diablo is all about. It's not an MMO where you get regular content updates, it's a one of payment game.

You're not going to get new content.

The only new content that Diablo 2 ever received was an expansion pack. There wasn't weekly content updates or anything. People just kept grinding the same 5 acts for 10 years.

Non of that will matter if the loot still sucks, sure they are buffing legendarys but what are the chances of actually finding a good one? I will refrain passing judgment till I put some time into the patch, but I dont trust blizzard and there "random" drops and "random number generators".

Running the same 4 areas needs to be fun, its a loot finding game, and the only thing that can be fun about running the same crap over and over is actually finding loot. At this point it seems like blizzard just wants people to buy it. They can change all they want if the loot sucks, the game will continue to tank and suck.

Yep. Exactly. People will look back on Diablo 3 in high regard like their other titles. This patch is hopefully just the start of that.

I'm still pissed they didn't add a cleric/paladin, the closes thing to it is a monk which even though mine is lvl 60, just doesn't feel like a holy warrior that I like to play.

Another 100 lvls doesn't make me scream in joy and want to pick up D3 again, in fact lvln again just turns me off, it's the same thing that is going on in WoW. New expansion hits and it's like "more lvln/grinding to do hell yeah!!!" then I continue to barf in a corner looking at all my alts that need to be lvled...AGAIN!!!.

The gamplay is fun, playing with my friends was fun, having to break down and buy gear to progress everytime was not. Farming for loot was not fun, hardly any good gear dropped ever. It was fun enough where if they fix the gear I will go back and play with my friends. Hence why I said I will refrain from judging till I put time in to the patch to see if they actually fixed gear drops.A loot farming game with bad loot gets old, I dont know how many times I have to say that to get it past your thick skull.The game itself was fun, staying just to farm is not right now. Cant break it down any more then that for you.

So because one mechanic of the game wasn't suited to your liking, the game is a terrible abomination and the developers should feel bad. How was gear dropping broken when it worked (almost) exactly as the developer intended it to? You (and many others) went into this game with the wrong mindset. You were focused on beating the game, not getting loot. So when you hit a block in Inferno, you blamed Blizzard for designing it in a way that didn't suit you. That is why you bought loot, instead of farming it for yourself. You gave up because you weren't getting your way of beating the game.

With the NVx5 buff, 1.4 million level 63 kills. 10.5 billion XP. It's gonna take quite a long time.

For me to play it again, they'd have to get rid of the drm, rework the loot system completely to reward you as if there wasn't any kind of auction house at all, either rewrite the terrible dialogue or give me the option to turn it off completely, and make leveling up an interesting affair with actual choices in progression.

Haven't touched Diablo 3 in like forever so maybe this patch might get my group back into it.

I still won't be picking the game back up. Blizzard still has no clue that core stats are boring and are not going to make the game fun. When are we getting off the wall skill affixes again? Weresin or werebarb anyone? If I want WoW stat progression, I'll play WoW.
