Best PC game of all time?

My choice for best game of all time is still 'Jagged Alliance 2'.
There has been no other game -ever- that I enjoyed and played for so long. Perhaps one day it will be dethroned, but not yet. Although, I have to say that my 2nd place for best game 'Medieval II: Total War', is coming close..

Its been about two weeks since I posted this thread asking about the best game ever...

Very interesting answers.   I've been playing games since the Commodore 64 came out... don't know if many here remember that....   but... in looking at all of your answers it looks like maybe I posed an unfair question....   I guess it does depend on the type of game...   and also on whether the game broke a technological envelope.... and whether it was fun... and... and ... and...    you could go on with a few more conditions...

Now to answer the questions that were posed to this writer....

I got the number of WoW being 7 or 8 out of over 7000 games from this website... from gamespot.

And now... after reading your comments about your favorite game ever...  I wonder about WoW being my all time favorite.   I guess I based that on how addicted I was to WoW and for how long I played it.    But then again I had been addicted to Starcraft, the first games of the Kings Quest Series from Sierra, the Thief series, Total War series, Civ I and II, and Half Life.

As a single player: Baldur's Gate, Starlancer, Max Payne, Total Annihilation, Alien vs. Predator.

Multiplayer: Battlefield Series, Unreal Tournament Series, Serious Sam Series, Counterstrike.

Mostplayed game ever: Streets Of Rage 2 (yeah it's a console game, but for two co-oppers who liked fighting games in those days it was a few times a week ritual for a long time.......and i have two gamepads for my pc and an emulator, so i've played it a few times on my pc as well)
