2x8800GTS, even at that price, cost about the same as a single 8800GTX.

Even if you think a single 8800GTX will outperform your two GTSs, WHY would you buy the SLI solution over the GTX?

28 fps is just as "playable" as 34 fps. Especially in a game like World in Conflict where a poor framerate doesn't significantly effect gameplay.

In a FPS, neither 28 fps nor 34 fps is playable IMO.

34 fps is NOT playable to me in a FPS game. Especially in fast-paced titles. I couldn't care less if you have lower standards.

Yet more uneducated nonsense. There's a huge difference in motion fluidity between 34 fps and 70 fps. Especially in fast-paced games, like FPS titles.

Yes, I knew movie theaters played at framerates in the mid-20s. So do many other standardized movie formats.

Yeah I would also recommend a GTX. And since you want to play games withhigh agraphical performance I would suggest you buy some more RAM, upgrade to like 4 Gigs or sum. Especially for games like Crysis.

Sure, a 500+ dollar video card would be nice, but thats also extremely wasteful for something that is onlya hobby. A 280 dollar 8800GTS 320mb version, however, is a good compromise. Its got the best frames per second to dollar ratio of all the cards.

I Totally agree that a 320 meg card is a good compromise...i just owned one and loved it. the thing that set me off was saything hthat if you cant max it out on a gts you cant on a gtx essentially making them the same card. i upgraded recently to a gtx and WOW there is a world of difference. and a 280 dollar graphics card is great especially since in a couple months when you need more performance you can spend a paltry 280 dollars again and have the performace of a gtx without the initial cost

Depends. Slower movements look fluid in movies while rapid movements look choppy.

Yes. The higher the framerate, the more fluid movement will become. Up past around 60 fps you start to get hugely diminishing returns in fluidity though, which is why many games set the limiter there. Also, most screens utilize refresh rates around 60-85Hz, so beyond 85 fps is a waste on most displays. You won't see the extra frames because they won't be refreshed. Going from something like 30 fps to 70 fps makes a HUGE difference in twitch-based FPS games (Counter-Strike, Unreal Tournament.)

Thought about picking it up, but I don't really wanna pick up another RPG with The Witcher coming out in a little over a week. I like NWN2's official campaign, but I've heard alot of complaints about the expansion. I'll probably pick it up eventually.

gtx was 70 percent faster

im comparing the dollar...the euro is worth more and you guys unfortuanatly have to pay more for a lot of the same stuff , but less on others, wierd...anyhow the gtx will be more "bulletproof" in the future....what i have been saying the whole time was that games like crysis and ut3 (on ultra settings) will really show off where the extra power is when the gtx is jumping ahead by a BIG margine.

wow i may not have many posts but if you actually look at the comparisons the gtx absolutely OWNS the gts...where the high end gtx is STILL PLAYABLE above 30 the gts is around 9??? guess 50 percent was a little under it should have been 66 percent...unbelievable...u send me a link that proves nothing...look at that whole link before you send it...it shows that dx10 is virtually unplayable on a gts...where as gtx runs it just fine with the eye candy turned up? how is the price to performance ration better when you cant even play it?

yet that pretty much covers it r4v3n, well over 20% better in ALL benchmarks, almost 50% better in most cases. the performance of a gts does not even compare to that of a GTX.
