Am I the only one that thinks that this year was dull for us PC gamers? Sure it started of fine with Bioshock, Tomb Raider and Metro but then it staled off. Theres not much to anticipate either thats coming out reasonably soon, well maybe except for Bf4 and Watch dogs.

In other words, damn Im bored and want something fun to play :/

I might give it a try if I can find a cheap copy but I'm not really a fan of Splinter Cell games and the only one I liked was Double Agent.

I wouldn't say so.

There was Shadowrun Returns, CoH2, I enjoyed these games.

Arma III just launched or is about to, (haven't played it though)

Planetary Annihilation in Dec.

Sim City has actually improved a decent amount from launch. My GF, and my mate both play it a good bit. (those are just the exclusives)

Not to mention the multiplats, like the one I am looking forward most to XCOM Enemy Within (expansion).  Also SouthPark Stick of Truth is supposed to launch in Dec.

well, in terms of games there hasn't been any but the vg248qe came out at the very end of 2012, but went on sale really in 2013 and for only 250$ that's enough to make up for it

On a "AAA" front, it's been kinda crappy. Rome II and Company Of heroes 2 was to be sequels to two of the highest quility strategy games around.

They sucked imo. From a smalller game indie perspective with stuff like Rogue legeacy, it's been great, i'v been enjoying these more so than the big hype games. Shadow Warrior coming on tommorow as well, will kick ass and chew bubblegum. Probably make up for DukeNukem: Console Port

Bad year for pc games? wow, I feel teh exact opposite, this has been the best year in ages imo.

Not only some good mainstream games but TONS of great indie games. If you dont have an open mind and dont try alot of different games or indie games then yeah you might think the year sucks.

- Prison Architect

- Chivalry

- Civilization 5: A Brave New World

- Outlast

- 7 Days to Die

- ARMA3

- Sins Of A Solar Empire: Rebellion

- Farcry 3 Blood Dragon

- Starcraft 2 Expansion

- Total War Rome II

- Rogue Legacy

- Company Of Heroes II

- Metro Last Light

- Rising Storm

- Don't Starve

- Splinter Cell Blacklist

- Cube World

- CS: GO

- Payday2

- Planetside 2

- State Of Decay

- Shadowrun Returns

- Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs

- Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes

- Gone Home

- Europa Univeralis IV

- Folk Tale

- Godus

- Gnomoria

- Might and Magic Legacy X

- Game Dev Tycoon

- Bioshock Infinite

- Age Of Empires HD II

- Papers Please

- Crysis 3

- Sang Froid
- Sanctum 2

Plus you got the amazing GTA 5 on consoles if you own one of those, hell of a year for gaming if you look in the right areas.

The year was great if you check out non mainstream popular stuff, there was a ton of great indie games this year. 2013 is the year of the INDIE for me.

Much better year for games imo than the last 3 years.

The most dissapointing games for me this year was Tomb Raider and Takedown: Red Sabre

No problem.

I loved the South Park 64 game, and are looking forward to the RPG as well.

As an FYI

Shadowrun I must point out has pretty much fixed most of the techincal launch issues like stuttering of audio, lagging gameplay.  Gets new DLC early next year. The tablet version doesn't come with the map/campaign editor, however it will still get the (best of) user made content (or something to that extent)

Heck no. It's a good to great year. :)

hell, i'm a VERY picky person yet I bought many games indie, and some bigger titles and I enjoyed several titles.  Arma 3 just released too.  I don't see how it was a bad year, besides, the year isn't even over!

Was a decent year. Got simcity last month its not super but its ok. But Don't starve is now one of my favorites.

But will probably be better year for 2014 with GTA 5 on pc, tropico 5, Grim dawn and many others.

Below average, not terrible but not great.

Best games for me include:

Metro LL, Antichamber, Tomb Raider, SC: Blacklist, Rayman Legends, Brothers, FC3 Blood Dragon and CoJ Gunslinger and Dead Space 3.

I'm doing great.

Playing System Shock 2 and Trine 2 both for the first time.  Just bought Rogue Legacy off of GoG today and I still have Fez, Dyad and Legend of Grimrock all off of GoG.  I also have Portal 2 recently purchased from the last Steam sale.

That's not counting the stuff I want to replay still: Ys: Oath in Felghana (want to speed run the game), BioShock, BioShock Infinite, Star Wars: KotOR, Jade Empire and Binary Domain (so good).

Then I've got the games I want to give a second chance to, never beat them just sort of stopped and did other things: Alan Wake, Shogun 2, Alpha Protocol and Dead Space 3 come to mind.

So even if there aren't any "new" releases I've still got a ton of games so I'm doing just fine.

Of course there's my wishlist too... The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Papers Please, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Devil May Cry, Civilization V (and the expansions), Kentucky Route Zero, La Mulana and other games.  Just waiting to complete what I have before buying.  I already have so much it's impossible to justify buying more stuff UNLESS I jump straight into it ala Trine 2 and System Shock 2.

Like many have said before me, this year to me has been fantastic when it comes to Indie titles IMO. I've never enjoyed so many different Indie titles in one year as this one. As for AAA titles I only bought a few, but the ones I did get I thoroughly enjoyed.

Dragon's Crown

Multiplats:

Bioshock Infinite (hated the ending though)

Metro LL (one of my fav FPS)

State of Decay (so glad it finally came over on PC)

Tomb Raider

DMC (yea I liked it)

Payday 2 (such a good co-op FPS game)

PC:

SC2 HotS

Chivalry Medieval Warfare

Shadowrun Returns

Total War Rome 2 (still need to buy it)

FF14 ARR (probably one of the best MMO's that I've played)

Then theres still to be released:

Wasteland 2 (pc)

BF4 (multi)

Batman Origins (multi)

Watch Dogs (multi)

True,I wasn't saying that consoles didn't get many exclusives, I just barely touched them this year because of all the PC games I was playing (and also played a lot onv3DS). I forgot about God of War Ascension, Puppeteer and Gears of War.

Some really interesting titles launching in the coming months. I'm excited for Need for Speed, Ace Attorney, South Park, Zelda and Watch Dogs. And some titles that may or may not release this year: Grim Dawn, Apotheon, Command and Conquer, ...

There has been a steady stream of good PC games throughout the year. Metro, Tomb Raider, CoH 2, Rising Storm, Bioshock Infinite, Rome 2, Arma 3, Payday 2 and SC Blacklist to name a few.

I've put over 100 hours into CoH 2 between the beta and final release and I still play it pretty much daily, Relic are doing a great job of patching it and adding new maps. Same goes for Rising Storm (which imo is the best multiplayer FPS in ages).

Only thing the year has lacked is RPG's, but next year we get TW3, DS2 and DA3 which all look promising.

The only game that drew me away from my PC was TLOU which I found to be pretty overrated. We had better games in Metro Last Light and Tomb Raider.

I've been out of the loop for years, so I'm catching up with all the old titles. It's going to take me a while to catch up. Just beat Tomb Raider today. That was a lot of fun.

The market is changing. Steam is trying to adapt. People are not buying computers like they use to. Consoles, tablets, smartphones and other low powered devices are taking over. Even Microsoft realizes this with the shift to their surface line.

I've put over 100 hours into CoH 2 between the beta and final release and I still play it pretty much daily, Relic are doing a great job of patching it and adding new maps. Same goes for Rising Storm (which imo is the best multiplayer FPS in ages).

Same here. I play it almost daily.

They got a lot of flak for the amount of DLC (skins and commanders) they put in the game. But the most important thing, maps, they continue to add for free. That's really awesome of them. And gives the game logevity.

I also got the new Theater of War pack for free because I preordered.

I suppose this year hasn't released that much that I'm enthusiastic about but thats okay because I usually wait a year or two after release so I have yet to play borderlands 2, xcom enemy unknown and skyrim!
