I've never read Potter but I've seen the films.....lazy way to do it I guess....:P

They are excellent, though now that they are all out some of the 'fun' may be gone. There was something special about having a lapse of time between stories because it led you to imagine what would happen with the rest of the series, and that was a lot of the enjoyment from the books...which is kind of weird. Either way, the books are easy reading, but enjoyable. If you have some free reading time, they go quickly.

Another series is the Fire and Ice books by George RR Martin

A Game of Thrones was simply amazing, but A Clash of Kings was nothing but sex and violence, sex and violence. I hear A Storm of Swords is the best of the first three, so I'm looking forward to reading it, but I really hope it isn't like Clash.

Possibly Brave New World by Aldous Huxley but it could also be Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie or The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Depending on my mood even Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut.
