Why do you drink alcohol?

(TOWARDS THE PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY DRINK IT)

Was just wondering why people drink alcohol. Because it tastes good? To calm you down?

I also want to see what people are tasting out of it that I'm not. The flavor of the alcohol is just drowned out by how much it burns my throat, so I just wouldn't be able to get into any of it.

I even have one friend, with her 13 year old brother and 16 year old sister who all love to drink wine (not til they get s*** faced, just occasionally/when their parents let them, which isn't often), and they never complain about it burning, they just compliment on how good it tastes, though it may be because they're part Italian, but I'm part Irish and German, so shouldn't I love it? lol

Now I can say I never want to get into alcohol like I do soda, I was always just curious as to why my body can't stand it so much. I guess that's just how I will always be.

Because it makes me feel good

In social situations it loosens me up and makes the day/night more enjoyable. Moderation is key though, I only drink a couple times a month.

I have no idea why they do, i tried to drink it. It tastes awful and gives me an immediate headache. I've been sloshed quite a few times and no hangover as of yet, my new years resolution was to drink more, but i'm welching on that.

I can say I'm pretty sure no one trully cares about the taste when it reaches the level of beer, scotch and wiskey, but I can see where (my friend's family for example) wine would taste good. And Mike's Hard Lemonade had a nice taste to it.

if you drink a light beer such as keystone, bud light or miller light, yeah it is kinda like drinking piss. But people don't drink those for the taste. They drink it because it is a cheap domestic and to get drunk. Only time I would drink those was to get drunk at the bar and play beer pong in college. If imports were just as cheap, I guarantee nobody would be drinking that ****. However, darker beers have more flavor and taste pretty awesome. Best domestic in my opinion is Shiner...but there is a crap ton of great tasting beers that need to be discovered. It is like art that you can drink...try licking a Monet or a Di Vinci and see if you get the same results. Probably not

I used to cave in to peer pressure in my day a few times as a rubbish teen. Happened 3 or 4 times. Those days are behind me though. I am indeed a one beer queer as you so eloquently put it. Unless by a miracle a beer tastes good, i'll stick to soft drinks and tea.

I've tried quite a bit. Worthington Creamflow tastes ok but i feel like i lose my testicles when i drink it. Fosters in any incarnation tastes like piss. I actually prefer lagers to beer. But its just the overall tastes, its too much for my fragile girly tastebuds.

Personally I think it taste disgusting so.. I rarely do.

And there are some beers that are really smooth

Usually drink a every day. A couple of beers to relax while doing whatever.

The taste, the feeling and the associated socialization.
