It doesn't really look similar, really. It's not an upgraded version, either. Facebook did get it's idea from somewhere else, but I don't think it was from Myspace.

Facebook is a pretty good way to keep in touch, although

they need to add some features, like cross referencing interests/pages

with people's locations/names, so that you can actually find and meet

like minded people, not just add who you know or browse through

thousands of persons in order to find somebody alike.

The thing i do find stupid and which tells me a lot about someone, is

when they have hundreds of 'friends' or hundreds of pages they 'like'.

Be true to yourself.

It used to be good when it was just for college students =P

You're right. That is a reason for you to hate it. But it usually doesn't get that bad. It'd probably be better for them to use those slide show things to show pics, though, rather than just being able to View Image/Save Image and stuff like that.

It does get that bad though, I've heard some stories before of people like being stalked because they give out too much info, it's not safe at all.

@Dark link: I know but people can still access others info if they want it, nothing on the internet is 100% safe and any info anyone puts on the internet can be seen.

They have tons of horrible games on there, some people actually pay real money to play them. It's an invasion of privacy, I always see people post personal information on there I always see people post info about where they work and what they do everyday, I think it's a horrible site and I'm surprised it's so popular. Friendster, Myspace, Facebook > all not for me and I deleted them. Each started off well and eventually degenerated in to being mostly useless in my opinion. They all do exactly the same thing, plus their own bells and whistles. If people want to have private pages and keep in touch with actual friends I understand that, but the fact is the great majority don't and use social networking as a lame and useless popularity contest, amassing "friends" they will never see, talk to or care about, beyond it having added another number to their statistics page. And, also my opinion, as soon as any social networking sites allow celebrities and corporations to create profiles so they can get free advertising and publicity, that site is basically useless. I feel the same way about youtube - as soon as every celebrity and corporation in the world realized they could use it to pimp themselves it became utterly pointless to have an account.albatrossdrums
