They have tons of horrible games on there, some people actually pay real money to play them. It's an invasion of privacy, I always see people post personal information on there I always see people post info about where they work and what they do everyday, I think it's a horrible site and I'm surprised it's so popular. Why do people like sharing info about their personal lives with strangers and people they hardly know??

Not by a long shot. Nothing is really wrong with facebook, you just happen to not like it.

Wouldn't that title technically go to this site?

And no, Facebook is fine. Some people don't like it, but calling it "the worst site to ever exist" would lead some to think you're just a social failure.

Not even close to being the worst IMO; I love Facebook--I just hate how addictive it is overall.

It's not that bad. I like to check it the mobile version, don't really care for all the other bells and whistles. But I think calling it the worst ever is being a little dramatic.

I'm not a social failure, it's society that failed on me but thats not the point, I think facebook is horrible because people think they can share info on there with like all these people they hardly know, it makes no sense to me to share info with all those people and some people got like over 300 people added, I doubt those people know all those 300 people really good. I never share any info on mine, what I do is my own business and I don't think random people should know about my entire life.

Well, for one only people who befriend them can see personal information and even then it varies with privacy settings, I like it though I never use it, the only time I use it is to see updates and clues given from The Criterion Collection. Besides the worst site ever is the one who will be left un-named.

well that's fine then, if you don't want to post your personal information then don't, if other people want to, that's their deal.

I use Facebook frequently and I don't play the games, share overly personal information or talk to strangers. It's a great way to keep in touch with people you don't know very well, and I love how when I go on vacation I can easily share pics.

Yeah I agree. Facebook and social networking are the downfall of our societie(s). Its like reality TV, nothing good or meaningful every comes from them yet people are addicted to them like crack!

Stop posting every little detail of your life! And stop mixing you grandma and some chick you nailed because you were both so drunk you couldnt see straight at the same place!! So they are both reading the same boring, meaningless garbage thats on your mind at any given time!!

well a lot of the people i'm friends with on facebook, i don't have their phone number, and/or they don't have msn/aim/etc, so facebook is the only line of communication that i have with them, aside from running into them in real life, so it's helpful for things like that.

The issue is that it's an invasion of privacy and there a lot of people who use facebook who don't realize the dangers on the internet. Females don't realize that if they look good there will be tons of perverts who try to get their info. Just because you can edit your privacy on there doesn't mean it's completly private, if someone wants to they can view peoples private info without that person even knowing some stranger is seeing all their info. It's not a safe site at all.

You're right. That is a reason for you to hate it. But it usually doesn't get that bad. It'd probably be better for them to use those slide show things to show pics, though, rather than just being able to View Image/Save Image and stuff like that.

It's absolutely NOT an invasion of privacy. There's no argument there. It's simply NOT. You elect to display what you want to display. NOTHING is shown publicly unless you chose to show it.

I guess it really depends how a person uses Facebook, really. For you, it sounds like you just add a bunch of people to your friend list you met on the internet and play games with them. In that case, I'd probably hate the site too. For me, I don't play games on Facebook. I use the site as a tool to keep in contact with friends I know in real life. It's very useful considering how most friends these days don't always have the time to hang out all the time anymore.

Yeah, but he's saying they don't know that it could be dangerous.

That's their problem then. It happens everywhere, but he's not complaining about that. What about "terms and conditions" that you're supposed to read before you sign up for something online? The internet is a dangerous place but that danger is far from exclusive to Facebook.

[QUOTE="Dark__Link"] So you don't share any info on yours, and people who want to share info do so. What's the issue?

cheesyjon

It does get that bad though, I've heard some stories before of people like being stalked because they give out too much info, it's not safe at all.

@Dark link: I know but people can still access others info if they want it, nothing on the internet is 100% safe and any info anyone puts on the internet can be seen.

What's the difference between Facebook and MySpace?

Why did Facebook overtake MySpace?

i don't see how you think it's an invasion of privacy. facebook doesn't make you post anything. people can choose to not post whatever they want.

cheesyjon

Yeah, but he's saying they don't know that it could be dangerous.

but that's not facebook's fault. they probably have something in their terms of use (i don't know for sure, i didn't read it, like probably everyone else) saying that they should be careful of what they put up.

Then go after online banking with your rants. That information is a lot more personal and delicate than anything on Facebook.

That's their problem then. It happens everywhere, but he's not complaining about that. What about "terms and conditions" that you're supposed to read before you sign up for something online? The internet is a dangerous place but that danger is far from exclusive to Facebook.

Nobody even reads those. :P... perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea. :|

It's only an invasion of privacy when family members are involved. Biggest mistake I made was adding my sister to my friends list. Facebook has great privacy settings, use them.

You have usernames on MySpace, I think... that would make it harder to find friends who you don't see often.
