If we didnt have any guns to kill each other with then we would just go back to using swords, clubs and arrows. its in our nature to destroy ourselves. the weapons just change over time. War never changes, arms change. Nothing would change. Except battlefield medicine (because removing an arrow is alot harder than removing a bullet, depending on the arrowhead)

No it wouldn't be peaceful since most of mankind is and sadly will always be violent in my opinion. So if you destroyed all the guns mankind would just come up with some other way to kill each other.

It's not really the guns that are violent it's just certain people that are violent so destroying all the guns wouldn't do much.
