[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]You use the free options that Comodo provides, correct? What's the catch? How can they offer all this stuff for free?

Hexagon_777

That is a good question lol, as far as I know Comodo is one of the best firewalls out there. From what I've understood their Defense+ isn't bad either. I see very few people mentioning Comodo as their antivirus so I don't know why people don't use it but I believe some site did some kind of test and while Avast! (or AVG can't remember) catched 90% of their stuff, Comodo only found like 60-70%.

Got a link for that? And you seem to like Comodo. Why not give this a try? :P

Meh it's not that I necessarily like Comodo, it just all came in one package so I was just too lazy. I don't have a link though but I know it's from VirusBTN

I was using Nortons, but figured I would try something different. So until tomorrow, I am using AVG. It expires tomorrow. I tested AVG for a year and like Nortons better, so instead of renewing my AVG, I am letting it run out and getting Nortons again.

Wow, am I the only one here that doesn't use an anti-virus program? Like, none whatsoever? I don't feel the need to use one... I mean, if you DO get a virus, antivirus programs can't do jack about it, since you've already gotten it. All they can do it tell you about the virus. By then, it's attached itself to other system files. I know they can stop virus pfrom executing, but I'd rather not have an anti-virus hog my system resources all the time, like they always used to when I used to use them.

If I get a virus, I reformat! Done! I keep all my stuff on an external drive, so it's nothing.

Wow you sure do have a lot to learn about Antivirus software don't you. Sorry, but they do remove the virus. I mean really, what would be the point in having an antivirus software if it didn't remove them. I find it amusing that you think they don't.

Microsoft Security Essentials. It just works in the background, no annoying pop ups and I never have to touch it. Very impressed.

Microsoft Security Essentials

I had Norton, but had a ton of problems.

Its been perfect really. I got one virus, but that was when my bro opened a bad attactment.

Also, unlike Norton, its not a huge system resource hog.

All ratings say it's far from the best however unlike others i've tried it dosn't upset any other programs. It's worth looking at Threatfire (heuteristics only) to complement it, it's far from perfect and will turn up false positives but it'll pick up things Avast dosn't.

Actually if you look into it you'll find that it's rare for AV to be able to remove a virus from an active scan properly. From passive mode they work quite well at aborting connections but quite often with active scans it'll say it's removed but the files are really still there if you put in the effort to look for them.

I'm using an antivirus program. That's all you need to know. If I told you what exactly the antivirus program is then you or someone else will probably just create a virus that will be immune to my antivirus program

Microsoft Security essentials. Haven't had any virus problems in years, but it's better to be safe than sorry so I keep it installed.
