The most legendary metal band

Whats in your opinion/observation, the most legendary metal band of all time.

I dont mean this sales wise, or how good you think they are, just the band that when you mention "metal" most people will asociate it with that band?

In my opinion it has to be Iron Maiden , sure you have Metallica, but the most people in my experience will say Maiden first then they might think of Metallica.

Yes there are bands that are infinitely better than them, but come on man, it's Sabbath.

I think Metallica, cuz they're probably the most succesful.

This is easy. Black Sabbath. They were pioneers! The only other metal band after that would be Metallica.

For me i would say Black Sabbath. Perfect with Ozzy and even better when Dio came along....

Maiden, Sabbath, and Metallica, any one of these are the most legendary. Iron Maiden is my personal favorite of these, however.

Popularity wise? Probably Metallica. My vote goes to Death though.
