I can't stand it when the government plays god with this stuff, as if they know what is better for us than we do. Let the parents choose, leave me and the government out of it.
It's the woman's choice to do whatever she wants with the fetus. No one else's. Not mine. Not the government. Her's.
if your aloud to kill a babie while its still inside you then what would be the difference of killing it when its born. you guys are saying "the mom can do what she wants with her child" well then what would be wrong with your mom deciding to kill you today?PeterPerson
If you're going to pose that extreme to pro-choice advocates, how about you consider the other direction: During the first week after conception, would you really call that blob of cells a "baby"?

When does an embryo become a baby? There is no simple answer to that question.

I'm a person...a fetus is a lump of flesh.
abortion is wrong. its murder. its in the bible.PeterPerson"And then teh lord said onto them, "yay, do not use coat-hangers, nor rusty swords, but sanitary medical instruments to perform abortion"--John3:24. So you see, by today's laws it's explicitly OK to have an abortion, with the Bible at least.
I feel it's wrong as well. I just feel that it shouldn't be legislated. Personally, I'd always tell any girl who got knocked up to go ahead and have the kid, but if she doesn't want to, I feel it's wrong to force someone to act AT ALL, and especially imprudent to do so on such a grey issue.I feel it's wrong, so pro-life.

You are simplifying an essentially very complex issue. What is life? I mean, really, think about it, don't just say it's one think for the purposes of argument, I'm not going to. I don't know what it is, but that's the heart of this issue and all I know is that it's COMPLICATED AS HELL.Basically, that attitude gives people AIDS.here's an idea: If ya don't want kids, use protection orjust don't have sex

If the woman was raped then of course abortion is an option, but if she was careless and got knocked up for lack of proper precautions, why should the fetus be terminated because the woman (and man) are irresponsible? Although there are arguments towards how it'd mess up their life... but whatever. There are exceptions everywhere, it's just when to draw the line that's the problem.Agriath
That seems flawed to me. Once you establish the precedent for fetus rights (or however you phrase it) in cases where the mother was irreponsible, how can you deny the same protections to a fetus that came about as a result of a rape? In both cases, the fetus is "blameless" and stands to face termination as a result of the actions of someone else.

not having sex gives people AIDS? :?
I'm not saying you don't get any, but a bunch of prudes mad that everyone else is having fun say 'oh yeah, you're shoot yourself in the foot, you know, you shouldn't do it at all' and so condoms aren't even talked about and so STDs spread like wildfire. People have been having sex for a very long time, I don't know if you know this. There are very few societies that just have total abstinence, and then, that's usually because of some kind of sexual perversion, but the bottom line is that telling kids to just not have sex is proven to not work.i only believe abortion is ok if the mother is in danger or if the woman was raped.ItalStallion777But do you feel so strongly about that that you want it legislated, enforced by men with pepper-spray and firearms? I may think that lying is usually wrong, or that breaking a person's heart is wrong, but would I ever want a law saying that people couldn't do either? No, of course not.
