Is this proof positive that Lucas has finally driven the franchise to the ground from oversaturation? Is it just the art style or maybe even the mere fact that it is all computer animation in the first place? Is it the fact that it's just filling in a whole in the story that most people didn't really want filled? All of the above? If it had been a decade or more since the last Star Wars movie came out, do you think people would care about it a lot more? Am I completely wrong and this movie will do nearly as well as the other Star Wars movies? How well do you think this movie will do?

(And no comparisons to The Dark Knight, please. It was good and broke some records. We know already.)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It comes out August 15, 2008.

Anyway, I never thought the Star Wars films were any good. I don't remember Episodes IV, V, or VI that well, so I can't judge them, but I do remember II not being any good, I being painfully mediocre, and III only being quite good.

That's just how I felt. I really don't care to watch IV, V, or VI again, either.

No, I'm not really interested in this movie. It just doesn't appeal to me.

Just so everyone knows: He never called it lame because it was "cartoon." He just said that it was "lame" and "cartoon."

But I can understand why people don't like the art style. Why does everyone here always jump on someone else when they don't like animated flicks? God forbid you don't watch Wall-E because it doesn't interest you.

Ignoring the prequels, would any actor sign up for a film that only Harrison Ford's career escaped unscathed from?

It looks like a crap cash-in, which is rather unneeded because Genndy Tartakovsky's brilliant series already exists.

And this reminds me rather of The Dark Knight. The comparison is undeniable.

In fairness, the only good actors' in the whole franchise were Harrison Ford and Natalie Portman; I honestly doubt you'll miss 'actors'...

Acting has always been a week point of the films. I mean, Mark Hamil?

Mark Hamill's a great actor. Not so much in Star Wars, but his voice work is outstanding.

I used to be a massive star wars junkie.

Needless to say I could careless about the franchise at this point.

Lucas over does everything. I think he would be better at directing medium-quality video games at this point.

But of course. George already ruined the universe with his prequel trilogy, now he is just beating the dead horse.

I've decided to give up on Star Wars (and Star Trek) and start anew with some fresh science fiction in the form of Mass Effect.

Even if I was a Star Wars fan I wouldn't see it because of the God-awful animation.....

As someone who LOVES animated movies and shows, I think the art style is terrible and some of the worst I have ever seen....

Star Wars in general is entertaining, but in no way, shape, or form do I understand the following it has gathered, especially with the newer movies. This animated movie follows that tradition, but even worse so...

Looks like a water-down version of the star wars universe and is completely unnecessary since they already did a series on this on cartoon network and it was pretty good.

If they made a Star Wars movie involving Darth Vader's apprentice for SW: FU I would definitely go see that, but only if it was live action.

Plus I don't know about you guys, but I'm sooo getting sick and tired of the star wars theme music. So outplayed, old and no originality anymore. duh DUH duhduhduh...duh DUH duhduhduh...duh DUH duhduhduh....DUH DUH---DUHDUHDUH!!!!!

I'm gonna be first in line. I love Star Wars, and vertical battles will be incredible. And CG animation means more Star Wars, more fleshing out of the story. For a fan like myself, i can't wait.

I plan on going to the movie, but to be perfectly honest, I think they've beaten this particular "Clone War" story arc into the ground. If only someone would expand beyond the episode I-VI timeline, new breath might be given to the series.

this looks worse than the Clone Wars cartoon on t.v. so I have no interest in paying money to see it
