I hate tim burton and johny depp (or whatever)

Seriously they are the most overrated people in hollywood...tim burton makes a crappy film, and he puts johny on it...OH HOW ORIGINAL! WHO KNEW HE WAS GOING TO PICK JOHNY FOR THE PRIME ROLL?

seriously, he just makes terribly and bizzarre movies...nightmare before christmas, corpse bride, alice in wonderland, sweeney todd....they just suck! as for depp, most people love him because of pirates of the caribbean well I also hate that too!

any brothers/Sisters here share my hatred towards them?

i do agree that burton sucks,it think del toro has already achieved what tim burton is looking for in his wildest dreams.i'm also agreed that johnny depp is massively overrated though he's not a bad actor.

I enjoy Tim Burtons films, and as for Depp...I've liked him ever since his Nightmare on Elm Street days. So in short Pirates did not make me a fan of Depp, but rather films like Benny and Joon and Edward Scissorhands made me a fan. He's a damn fine actor, but he is a bit bizarre.

I'm not a fan of most of Tim Burton's movies. Doesn't take away from the fact that Johnny Depp is an incredible actor though.

I've watched Johnny Depp ever since he was at Jump Street. I'm not the gossipy type who yacks about actors and actresses much (like some of my wife's friends). He's a "Meh" to me just like every actor and actress in Hollywood. But his movies are okay for me to buy. If his movies suck, then I don't buy it. I couldn't care less about whether he's overrated or not.

" I hate, I hate, I hate, this, I hate that, I hate " ... don't bloody watch them ... simple as that...

I guess they just figured out, that a lot of people wanna watch the movies that they "make" together... And nothing wrong with that really.

And besides, Burton have made some wonderful movies in the past (though i doubt that he'll be making any in the future), and Depp IS a wonderful actor, hes just not showing it in his current movies.

Edit: I agree though: Burton's films reek of mediocrity, and Depp's association with them only serves to diminish my opinion of him.

If I've ever seen a wrong opinion, yours is it.

I would like to see established directors trying different people for big roles, but it's hard to criticise someone for wanting to work with those they know they collaborate well with.

I know that. TC was the one who said it was awful, I was simply pointing out that I don't think it is.

Not a Burton fan (apart from Ed Wood, which I liked). And at this point his films are like community theater - same cast in every production. Johnny Depp is a fine actor, he just often makes poor choices in the movies he takes on. Watch Donnie Brasco. You'll see how well Depp can play straight roles.

Beetlejuice is awesome! Edward Scissorhands was ok. As is Batman with Michael Keaton
