How do you know when someone really likes you in real life?

Whenever I go with my mom to the coffee place in the mall one of the baristas always tells me to have a nice day even though my mom is the one who gets coffee. Is that enough of a signal to ask her out? What kinds of signals do you guys get from girls that lets you know that they like you?

My advice is to stop worrying about whether someone likes you and worry about whether you like them. In your example just ask her if she wants to catch up after work for something (probably not a coffee :) ). If she says yes, she digs you, if she says no, she doesn't. Easy.
