Do you prefer HIP HOP or POP music?

Agreed. Metal and my ears don't get along. I mean, I get that metal bands are talented, but it's so rare that I hear a heavy metal piece that I actually think is a good song.

On a side note, I wonder why gamers are so into metal in general.

Meh, between those two, pop. I'll put it like this, old school Hip Hop/Rap over Pop, today's Pop over current Hip Hop/Rap.

But I prefer Alternative/Classic/Indie Rock over both...

Not a big fan of either but I'm gonna go with Hip Hop simply because of Hilltop Hoods
