Neither is my favourite but if I had to choose I'd go with pop. Hip-hop/rap always sounds too forced for me.

I generally dislike pop. Canto-pop, western pop, J-pop it doesn't matter, all bad. Hip-hop's even worse.

Metal and electronic. And when I say electronic I mean stuff like Burial, John Hopkins, Four Tet, Tim Hecker, Forest Swords, and Haxan Cloak not stuff like Skillrex or Deadmau5. lol

Yup, MJ's king of POP. I listen to 70's,80's, 90's pop only. Say i'm watching Gaurdians of the galaxy, the 80's songs Redbone- come and get love or Pina Colada impresses me amongst rest newer musics from the movie.

Neither is my favorite genre but I'd rather hear some hip hop over pop. Pop is the most unintersting and inspired genre to me.

Hip-Hop is dead and if I want to listen to Hip-Hop music, then it will be Tupoc, B.I.G, and Nas. I pretty mush listen to all kinds of music but Rock, Hard Rock, and Metal is my all time favorite.

The only rap I can enjoy is that from the 1980's and early 1990's.

So if you listen to any of the GTA III, VC or SA soundtracks, you'll know what I like.

I'm not sure what happened to the genre really. I guess like rock it just left the mainstream behind and went back underground (I know there is a lot of little known rap artists out there, but they never hit the mainstream anymore).

If I had to choose I think I'd go with Hip Hop over Pop actually... or the other way around? Arrrgh, can't figure this out.

I don't think I really like either of them. This is like choosing between studying long division or advanced algebra, both are much too boring and a b!tch to really learn/get correctly.

I hate long division. Just wanted to throw that out here.

Neither I'm metal all the way. Death metal, black metal, thrash and power metal you name a genre in metal I listen to it but those are just a few examples.

Also when I'm in my car, I listen to Serious XM (SXM) radio station and my main channel is Octane, hard rock all day long baby. Follow by, Lithium, Hip-Hop Nation (mainly old school Hip-Hop when it was a thing) and Metal.

Hip Hop is a load of problems including advocating violence, drugs, racism, and sexism. It's cultural influence is like a religion.

Been listening to some European and South American pop on Pandora lately. I love Yelle and more pop rock like CSS

Neither are genres I listen to much these days. Not much pop I like from 90's onwards and most Hip Hop I like is from 80's/90's. Just getting old I think. ;)

It really, really depends but I generally don't like either. But I don't even know what qualifies as pop anymore. I love, love, LOVE Electric Youth, and I think they can be considered pop but I really don't know. As far as hip hop goes I usually just don't listen to it.

Hip-hop, definitely, though I don't despise pop music like others here seem to. I love rock and classical as well, though hip-hop is undeniably up there with my favorite genres. As much as people like to deride "what's happened to hip-hop these days," like Wilfred-Owen said, there's been a lot of good stuff recently.

Not a fan of rap at all, a few artists sometimes can make me enjoy it but overall the genre isn't for me. Same with pop. I'd rather some old rock, alternative styles or genres, house, trance, but you put on some Pink floyd and I'm good to go.
